I can't say much about the stock clutch, really. I had an Exedy Stage 1 that lasted me 53K miles. I daily drive my Z with that clutch and several hundred of drag strip passes with and without nitrous. I went to the strip every other weekend.

From the few HRs that I drove, the clutch doesn't seem all that strong. My stock clutches on my 03 felt better. Like I said before, as long as you're not planning on ragging on the clutch you should be good with a 75 shot and maybe a 100 shot.

BTW, I wasn't trying to be condescending or anything. I was merely stating that it's better to be safe than sorry.

I have a friend with a HR/100shot and his slips with only 25k miles on the clutch. Hes on a 75 shot now and still get an occasional slip.

I agree with you that the HR stock clutch is weaksauce compared to the older DE clutches. I just changed mine last week to a Exedy stage 2, my stock clutch had 97,000 miles on it with about 30k of them on N20. Usually a bottle every weekend. When they pulled it out there was still alot of life left. Although there was alot of play on the center of the disk and pressure plate, it all rattled like it was falling apart.

Have you dyno'd the Z? or your friend's HR? Any 1/4 times? What year is the HR 07 or 08? What gear is your friend spraying in? rpm's?

Thanks

Mo

^ Thanks man. In time :-) Most likely track/dyno .. Everything is done except for the spark plugs. Mark at One Six Motorsports was unable to locate NGK colder plugs for the vq35hr motor. If anyone can please advise what plugs that I should get that would be greatly appreciated! Need to order them by monday. I've read on some other threads stating to run 370z plug's? Post pics soon..

Thanks

Ricey, I love it.

I wish I had the paitence to set up a nice neat control panel like that. Mine will be painfully simple like my last setup though. I do nice work on other cars, but mine always ends up as function over form.

How exactly is the bottle mount set up underneath the carpet? I'm assuming you have some sort of a board for rigidity.

Thanks for the all compliments guys! Total cost $2400 with plugs and install. Still need to dyno it ;-) As for the bottle it is mounted on a metal board custom made by One Six Motorsports they did not want to drill anything into my car. Install was clean and lines in engine bay are all hidden as well, I post pics of that later. Keep you posted...

Damn, $2400 is a bit much, I think. I guess the price could be different in your area, though. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters.

Definitely post more pics of all the installs, wiring, locations, etc. I'm interested to see how yours is set up. And time slips, rather than dyno graphs, are preferred.

It is pretty pricey IMO. Came out to more than I thought about $200-400 extra. You have to expect throwing extra money always if you leave you car at the shop no matter how hard you try to bargain lol! Either way it was way less than FI and it's pretty stealth looking as far as the lines/etc... Love the way it was setup and main thing everything was done professionally so should have no worries... post pics of dyno/track to come....

Nice setup... i made a board underneath the carpet as well to withstand the weight of the bottle.. Overall, so far so good...now MORE PICS AND #'s HAHA

^ Thanks!

Update- Waiting on plugs HKS Plugs M40HL should arrive from THMotorsports by first week of March. (they were out of stock.. Kind of like every part that I've purchased for the HR has been out of stock or delayed shipping lol.. oh well patience is a virtue..) Any ideas on how much to gap them?
