Default Progressive Shots -- how do they work? And, nitrous plates?

Hey dudes. I'm pretty interested in progressive controllers from a theory standpoint, but I'm lacking some knowledge in terms of actual application. How do they actually work? Do they use special solenoids that only partially open? Do they use any solenoid and just quickly open/close them?

Also, a bit unrelated -- anyone found or made like a throttle body nitrous plate for any flavor of the Z yet?

Progressive contollers "pulse" the noids. They open them rapid-fire, like an injector, for a percentage of total time that you set. Say start at 20% and increase to 100% over 5 seocnds or whatever. VERY hard on the solenoids to cycle that fast, but if you have good, high-quality rebuildable soleniods, it's just part of the maintence procedure, pull them out and rebuild them if they stop working.

I have TB spacer plates for nitrous nozzles to fit an HR motor, if you are a DE, get me a throttle body and I can make the plates. There are already spacer plates for the DE out there I believe though.

Spacers. I'm running a non-drilled set on the car now, just to make sure they fit. I have another pair in the car with nozzles in them, just haven't gotten my fuel tap together yet so I haven't installed. Been having a lot of personal **** lately, haven't had any enthusiasm to work on the Z.

Cool man, I'll consider getting you a template or something!

I wonder which way the nozzle would come out frmo the plate even. Not much room to work there. Maybe a 90 degree mount on the right side (firewall side)?

Also, do you know how often a nitrous solenoid needs to be rebuilt, when going progressive? I mean, we talkin a couple times a season, or once a month? (assuming you're racing 2-4 times a weekend or something, I know its super vague, just looking for a very rough idea)

Yeah, the nozzle can come in from the outside, depends on where exactly you have room. Would have to see the DE setup to be sure.

I don't know on the noids, I'd assume once a season or less, not every week or anything. Just something to be ready for.
