Default Nitrous kit

Hey guys,

Wondering where you guys bought your nitrous kits from. On this forum from a vendor? or just online? I found a few sites, and these were the cheapest rates I could find, 480 for dyno tune wet kit, and 834 for the zex wet kit. Also, why is the zex almost twice as much as the dyno tune kit?? Thanks

btw here are the links: http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store...?idproduct=260

and for zex i found a cheaper site: http://www.statracing.com/buy/zex-dry-wet-nitrous.asp

I believe for the zex its the ZEX EFI Wet Nitrous System - 4 & 6 cyl for $529. I have read many threads, and a lot of n2o people spent 1k for their kits. This 400-500 range seems really cheap compared to 1k, is there something I am missing??

I think the $1000ish for a kit is a kit with upgrades. Like bottle warmer, gauge, remote opener and stuff like that. Just the kit won't include those upgrades.

I spent 1.5-2k on my setup. If you're gonna get a computer, tune, accessories and do it right, expect about that much. I went with Dynotune and they have excellent customer service. Just my 2 cents

The reason for the price difference is the name.

I have a Dynotune kit and I got everything (kit, heater, switch center, digital gauge, purge, 2 stage tps/window switch, blowdown tube) for under $1200 shipped about 2 or 3 years ago.

I've setup complete kits for around $600 with all new parts. Used stuff makes it much cheaper if your willing. The dual kits for the HR add a bit of cost, just the extra lines, nozzle and fittings add $100 worth of hardware.

still debating whether to purchase or not. Found a used zex kit for 750, including heating pad, gauge and what not. Don't know if I want to spend 750, plus the tune and everything right now though. Would it be ok to go without the tune for now? Or is that a necessity?

anything under 100 shot i believe with colder plugs is safe with no TUne. Although i just had a dynotune put it and dynoed and due to A/F ratio I could not safely go above a 50 shot. I might be able to go higher with a tune im guessing...that or i need a bigger fuel pump. ANy input with that problem?
Thanks,

Thanks,
^ "Due to AFR?" That makes no sense to me, unless your factory tune was already having issues with the AFR, you shouldn't have issues with nitrous. You can control the AFR with the jet sizes and that's what they're for. You do have a wet kit (has both fuel and nitrous solenoids/lines), right?

I should really start a new thread instead of hijack this thread, but yes on dyno first run i was already lean with no Nos. I have jet sizes at my house but basically had to use a 50 shot nitrous shot and tried usign the jet for 75 but that wasnt enough so I think he ended up putting in a nos jet but was bigger then the fuel jet. Got the AFR to normal but I am not happy with just a 50 shot.

^^ Haha, hey no problem man. If you are getting your questions answered, go for it. I don't mind. I am leaning towards NOT going for nos, so this thread won't be used by me.......

I have no idea what you just said. Instead of spitting arbitrary numbers that don't mean anything, provide an actual jet size that you used and provide a dyno sheet that shows your AFR for both N/A and on the juice.

BTW, nitrous jet sizes are supposed to be BIGGER than the fuel. And stop calling it NOS. That's a brand, it's not synonymous with nitrous oxide.

Sorry to confuse you, they were not arbitrary=random, they were off the top of my head. As i clearly stated I did not have the dyno sheet in front of me. I know the nos (Nos=nitrous oxide, so now i will continue to use nos now that EVERYONE knows i am referring to a longer word which is nitrous oxide) jets are bigger that is why the installer put a nos jet in the fuel jet to allow for more fuel. I will get the actual information nos&jet sizes posted later this weekend.

Maybe then I could get my lean condition cleared up.
