Question Question For All N2o People

1. How big of a shot are your currently running?

2. if you are running over 100 shot, did u have to do any time retarding or other ecu related tweak?

3. how high of an octane did u use while running nitrous

4. any internal engine / rear diff / etc mods?

thanks

Default umm

umm i have a 65hit of zex. If where where going to run anything more, i would change my plugs, run 100 octane gas, retard my timing at 4,000+ RPM and cross my fingers for sure. I only use my 65 hit of NOS maybe twice a month for 10 seconds at a time. If you plan on running alot esp at 125 hp, dont plan on your motor lasting to long, not saying anything bad about NOS, its just NOS, thats why. Sure NOS is cheap and adds big HP numbers, but remember, you get what you pay for.

oh ya, i would change your clutch out soon to..........the stock clutch WILL FAIL after extended use of MODS, esp 100 hit of NOS........my experience tells me, **** THE NOS and save your money to do it right. To do it right, you are going to need about $8,000.00, but then again you get what you pay for.

Peace out!

the thing is im already running a 100wet shot, and the engine is just eating it up no problem. NX says u "should" be able to safely run up to 25hp shot per cylinder or a 150 shot in our case, but i am worried about the rear diff/etc going out if i go over 100.

im not really too worried about the engine, because i maybe use n2o at most 10 times a year and its only in the summer. im sure the TC SC and TT do more damage then im doing with my n2o.

im trying to find out what the people runnin say a 125+ shot have done to their cars. other then getting colder plugs, i havent had to do anything else to adjust for the 100 shot.

i drive an auto, so a clutch isnt really on my mind. if anything i would to get a different torque converter with a highter stall when they come out.

but i still need more info on the 125+ shot people.

appreciate all the info so far...

All I can say is people with an auto and nitrous, don't spray through the shifts or you will hurt the tranny.

that one i've heard before. thats y i have a wot switch and a push button switch to along with it.

i have it set up so when i am wot in manual mode i am forced to let let go of the push button to shift before i can get back on the nitrous.

it took some practice getting used to letting go of the push button and shifting then getting back on the push button. its pretty easy now..i dont even think about it.

I'm currently running a 150 + whp shot (supposedly, but I haven't dynoed yet to prove it). I previously had a 140 whp shot in the car.

I have not touched the timing/ ECU; rather I have tuned using larger fuel jetting and 2 step colder iridium plugs on 93 octane gas.

I have made no internal mods, aside from an upgraded clutch; the stock clutch would not hold.

12's with 18s (1.96 60 ft) and a slipping clutch. I had to shut down on one particular pass because the stock clutch went "up in smoke." I caught 2nd gear and the car completely stopped accelerating but the rpms kept going up. At first, I thought I had done some serious (engine or trans) damage. The new clutch performs GREAT N/A, but I have yet to test it on the juice.

The 140 whp shot was indeed "rated" at 200.
