Very nice routing to the brake compartment, great job. Best I have seen in fact.

Yeah, the old rule was North to South at an angle. I don't think it will make much difference except maybe when the bottle is low.

Awesome Pictorial!

That's a pretty sweet setup.

Man, i know what you mean about the wiring. Wiring stuff in cars, i swear, is near impossible. Those electrical guys really are my saviors.

I cringed when i saw your open console with all the... wires.

now my questions:

1. how much was the complete kit?
2. how much hp are you planning to do with this kit?
3. what are those switches for? I see four different switches..

that's it for now..

oh, are you going to change out the spark plugs for 1step colder?

No problem Apexi350z, the whole reason I did this thread is because, I like fixing up my car, especially when I do it myself. You get that feeling of accomplishment you know. Thing is, I'm a real visual person, kinda gotta see how everything goes to know what the hell I'm doing. But your ?'s

1. I asked this question to how many members on this board. The average, for a complete kit (wet kit, purge, bottle opener, and heater), was around 1100, depending on where you can get deals, like ebay. I ended up spending around 1200, including the SPX adaptor and Cold Plugs.

2. I plan on running a 100 shot. People tell me though that I won't be satisfied until I'm running 150 but we'll see. I think a 100 shot will be plenty. I plan on starting low, like 50, then 75, then to 100 like the instructions say.

3. As for the switches, from left to right, the first is my bottle opener, the second is my activation switch, the third is my bottle heater, and the fourth is the purge.

4. Yes I plan on installing 1 step colder NGKs. If you're interested, the part number is LFR6A-11

This thread isn't totally complete yet, guess thats why its "ongoing" hehe. If I end up T'ing the fuel line, I'll take pics of that, and I wanted to take a pic of where the WOT switch is mounted by the pedal. I also want to put up a little FAQ of questions that I asked a lot of the more seasoned nitrous users on this board concerning various subjects. I'll also post useful links for information that I used during this install. Lastly, I'll post my dyno experience as well, when I get that done. Thanks again everyone for all your help.

Here's the jet sizes from NX, thanks MySunset350z (350zmotoring.com) for replying

SHOT NITROUS/FUEL jet sizes
35hp 31/18
50hp 35/20
75hp 41/24
100hp 46/28 (these you'll have to buy seperate)

these are for the NX kit only...some kits differ in jet sizes. and be sure not to mix up which jet size goes where. they should of gave you 7 different jets sizes with the kit, and you would of had to purchase 2 more if you want to run a 100 shot.

Q: Where can I get my bottle refilled?
A: Simply call 1-800-99-REFILL for the location of the nearest NOS dealer with refilling capabilities, or check immediately for the most up-to-date Authorized NOS Refill Station Dealers List online.

aint no thang man'g

nice clean instal. looks sweet.

i do have to wine a bit on the positioning of your bottle. it should be north to south with the opener facing the front of the car.

true it wont matter until the bottle is around 3/4 empty. but when it does get to that point, you'll notice that once you spray you'll feel a somewhat jumpy response because your not getting a pure nitrous jet to the engine. its kinda like trying to get the last sip of pop with a straw but you have the cup on a weird angle and you keep suckin up air instead of that last bit of pop. (does that make sense?)

you can probably get atleast 2-3 extra clean runs if you mount it the other way before you have to refill.

peace

Hmm...I might remount the bottle then, it isn't too hard, just a couple holes and voila. It makes sense thanks for the info.

Default north south?

Hey guys,

why would the best position be north/south. I am assuming that just means nozzle towards the front of the car. Or does that mean nozzle lower to the ground in relation to the back of the bottle?

I have to agree (from experience at the track) about jittering, because my bottle was East to West and it should have been North to South.

Just move it, no big thang, nice pictorial keep em coming.

Quick question to 12SecZ or anyone else who ran colder plugs. Did you notice a loss in power or mpg?

I didn't notice any difference in one step colder (denso iridiums), but it was a tad, not much, sluggish with 2-steps colder. Didn't notice any gas mileage difference cause I drive hard and it always different. Even with my daily 80 mile commute to work, I normally am in and out of traffic so I can't say.

Well guys, after running into a couple hitches, like the spx adaptor, and finals week at SDSU, my setup is up and running. I started it off with a 50 shot 35/20. I tested it in 5 gear at a little over 3000 rpm. But I really didn't feel anything, I'm pretty sure the system is running, I've tested the solenoids, and heard them opening. Is it just the fact I'm running a 50 shot? Has anyone ran a 50 shot? It can't be that weak could it? Guess i'm going to have to step it up to a 75 shot, and see how that goes.

As for that SPX adaptor, I picked up those o rings from the dealer and ordered the fitting from NOS, and it works fine, no leaks.

I also have a pocketlogger, so I can kind of see what kind of o2s i'm getting on a run. I'll post results later.
