NOS Progressive Controller TPS Issues
Hi Guys,
I have an 06 350z with manual trans, i installed NOS progressive controller with LCD display for 100 wet shot for now.
I've been having some issues with the TPS trigger though...
The trigger is set to rising TPS voltage with threshold of 4.1V, integrated window switch is set to 3500 - 6500RPM. The issue is that the controller will spray when ever RPM is in range completely disregarding the main trigger which is the TPS voltage. It will spray on partial throttle and won't stop spraying even if a completely lift off. I have to disarm the system from the main toggle switch or get the RPM below threshold to stop spraying.
I have verified solenoids for proper operation and rechecked all wiring, Also sent the controller to Holley for testing and they verified it is working as it should.
RPM reading on the controller LCD display is correct and TPS voltage is within the range. wires are tapped to ECU pins above passenger footwell using factory manual.
Any ideas or experience with this controller?

Isn't the TPS voltage supposed to be 0-5V? I think 4.1V is too low, which is why your solenoids are being triggered during partial throttle. I've had this problem a few years back when I didn't have my "minimum trigger voltage" set up properly. It should be at least mid to upper 4V, so start by reprogramming the trigger voltage for the TPS.
Also, double check and triple check that you tapped the correct wire at the ECU. Some of the wires connected to the ECU are very sensitive and any changes in the readings (i.e., tapping, splicing, etc) could affect its performance, so make sure you haven't made any mistakes like that.

I also agree that it sounds like your TPS is sensing at partial throttle voltages and not at WOT.
I would suggest using a volt meter to see what voltage you're seeing on that line at partial throttle and WOT. Then make sure that you've set your controller to only react at that WOT voltage. I wouldn't go off of what it's "expected" to be. Measure it on your car, and then you'll know 100%.
Plus, if you measure it and discover that it is completely out of the expected range or doesn't change with your throttle position - you may want to double check at that point because you probably don't have the correct wire.
