Default Bottle heater working properly??

Hey guys, I hear the optimal pressure for the bottle is around 900 psi. I've sprayed a couple of times on the bottle im on and my pressure is reading 600 psi. I turned my bottle heater on hoping to get the pressure up but it only went up a little bit, and I left it on for like 25 minutes. I have an NX wet kit, with a Zex heater. Is it working properly? Also, what would happen if I sprayed and my bottle went empty? Would I just run rich or would I mess something up?

900 psi is on the lower end of optimum pressure. (900-1050) if your bottle is at 600, either ur heater isnt heating, or ur bottle is empty.

how do zex heaters work? this is y i dont like mixing brands. nx heaters regulate themselves according to the pressure (not temperature) in the bottle. keeps pressures between 950 and 1000psi.

a good way to know how much is left in the bottle is when you purge. as long as you get a nice purge without any interruption, your usually good to go for atleast another run. also if your bottle pressure is at 600 even after heating, its a good sign the bottle is empty. bottle pressure wont get back into the green when ur empty.
peace

ZEX is just a power and ground with two thermostats. I didn't like the fact that it never went over 900 because I was spraying at 1000 in the Summer in my T/A w/o a heater! I agree at 600 the bottle is getting empty, feel the warmer is it on? If it's on and the bottle is full then the thermostat is faulty, no other reason, unless bottle pressure is low (emptied it or have a leak.)

Well the danger there is would it get too hot and exceed 1500 psi and vent? Do you havea BD Tube?

Without the thermostat is it always on with no off switch? I wouldn't be comfortable with that unless it was a track day only thing and monitored closely then removed after the runs.

Heat it up to 1000 turn it off make a run lather rinse repeat remove.

heh, lather rinse repeat remove.

if you bought the heater as a kit, then some sort of moniter weather it be a pressure sensor or thermostat should of came with it. the good thing about not having a moniter of some sort is you can exceed 1050 psi and be able to maintain a higher pressure throught the run. a bad thing about not having a moniter of some sort is you can exceed 1050 psi :-) and might forget its still heating.

i had to replace the vent cap on my bottle when i installed the blow down tube. they printed on the cap 3200, or 3700 max psi. i cant remember which one it was exactly. but im guessing that if the bottle pressure was to rise above that threshhold, then the cap would burst and vent out all the n2o.

i dont understand y they say that its dangerous to go above 1500 psi, and yet the pressure cap is set to withstand up to 3200 psi (or 3700)? is that how other systems are or just NX? doesn anyone even know what im talking about with the vent cap inside the bottle? have you even seen this cap that im talking about? actually, unless youve installed a blow down tube, you have no idea what im talking about so BLA!

good day.

ps: 12secz, are you using digital logic under ur avtar? if so, what does 916 stand for?

lol,

that is my area code, good catch the force is strong with you.

As for your bottle that is called a safety release valve and yeah I had to toss mine for the BD tube too.

I always wondered about that 1500 Vs 3000 (my old bottle said 3000) and no one ever knew but I am here to tell you it will blow that vent way before 3000 especially on a hot day!

It's 3200 max probably, the rule of thumb I have always heard was never go above 1500 if it is that hot turn the heater off or put it in the shade hehe!!!
