Nitrous: Starting problem?
Hey guys, I've had the nitrous system on the car for about 3-4 months now with no serious problems. But there is something that has been bugging me lately. Today, after a quick n2o run from 2nd-4th, I pulled over and turned off my car. But then I figured it might be a good idea if I let the engine run for a little so I started it again. While me and my cousin were looking at the engine, it just stops, like someone took out my key. Previously, about a 2 months ago, after another short run with the nitrous, I stopped and went into a store, when I got out and tried to start the car, it wouldn't start at first, as if the battery were dead. But after a couple tries it started back up with no later problems. It only does this after a recent nitrous run. Does anyone have any ideas?
I'm thinking it could be a fuel or spark plug problem. Is it possible, that when the fuel solenoid closes that there is residual fuel in the line between the jet and the solenoid and that dribbles into the intake, causing problems? There is a faint gasoline smell after spraying. Or do you think my spark plugs might be fouled? I have 1 step colder ngk coppers that I put in less than 7000 miles ago.
Any guesses, or assistance would be great.

did you extend the 2 foot lines they gave you with the kit? the kit comes with 2 foot lines that go from the selenoid to the fogger. if you got longer lines, then having left over fuel in the line is a possibility.
when i was doing some testing on my kit a while back i noticed something interesting. when i let go of the gas pedal and shut down the nitrous system during a run, nitrous and gas still spray out even with the system off. this is because of the leftover fuel and nitrous in the hose between the seleniod and the fogger. the lasts a split second, which im sure isnt a big deal, but thats why they say not to extend those hoses beyond 2 feet.
also, you might want to check your fuel seleniod. it migh be leaking, or not closing all the way? it can also be fouled plugs.
this is a bit odd. i ran my system for a few months last year without issues, but havent gotten around to doing anything this year. keep us updated with whatever you find out. i'd like to know the cause myself.

See, the thing you say about the leftover in the line makes sense, and it's actually what I was thinking, but if it isn't a large amount I'm not too sure how it could affect it. I'm thinking that if there IS a large enough amount that it dribbles down to the maf area, that it could mess with the sensor. I'm going to have to test out my system and see how much comes out after I stop spraying. And I didn't extend the 2 foot lines that I got with the kit.
Another theory I have is that, when I spray, I might be running too rich (still haven't dyno'd), so for those few seconds while I'm spraying I might be fouling the plugs? Is that possible? I'll probably do a quick run, and then pull over and check the plugs. I'm going to be getting it dyno'd as well this month so that should help out with the diagnosis.
