I want Juice need little help!!
i want juice but i need a little help on parts i need to get cause my car is a daliy driver and i want to keep in reliable...What parts should i get before nitrous?? Intake, exhaust, pully's etc.. I just got my Z about a month ago and i just broke it in...Turbo and Superchargers are way to expensive...I just orderd greddy front lip sides and vizage rear bumber and now a want some juice...Could i run nitrous with a stock engine?? i want to run about a 75 shot maybe even a 100...I heard that Zex is one of the safest out their..Which one would you recomend?? Im a newbie when it comes to nitrous...just want some insight, my Z needs to get faster quick!!
Do the NX wet kit. I think is the safest for the Z. (I'm kinda new too so anyone correct me if im wrong. Wont take it personally, trying to learn new stuff myself.) Thats the kit i just installed. I've read threads with Z/G guys running 150shot which i plan on doing so a 75-100shot would be very safe if used smart. Just make sure you do the right spark plugs and have them gapped right. Pretty sure nitrous could be run on a bone stock Z. Having an intake/exhaust would help. Well goodluck and keep us updated.
id like to hear more about a safe 100 shot as well. ive done all the bolt ons and am ready for n02. i really want to know all the other items ill need to keep it safe outside of what is available in the kit. i would like to have some type of controller that turns it on at 3k & shuts it off at 6.5k so i dont accidentally use it outside of those rpms...but im unsure of what controllers are available. any other items that add safety would be nice to hear about as well...........

That's a simple "window" switch, the NX Maximizer will give you that and I'm sure NOS has an applicable product as well.
It really is a good idea to run something like that because the fastest way to wreck a motor on juice is to go lean at the top of the RPM band. Since the 350z's ECU pulls fuel at the rev-limiter you should be very sure that the nitrous is long gone by that point.

Just an FYI on those looking to the window switches. They work great, I have them. Just be sure to send them in to MSD to have them modified to work on our cars.

thanx for the added info zu l8r, i went & read that whole thread that you linked but there still seems to be confusion on that window switch being modified. a slew of part numbers were getting thrown around, very confusing! 1st was#8956 wich seems to need modded, then #8656-1 wich appearently needs modded, then #8969 wich was claimed to work fine in one of the 350z owners cars & then a #8956-1 wich was supposedly made to work w/o modding on our cars as well yet some argued about them working/not working w.o the mod......so i really have no idea wich part number to order.......and by some of the comments on that thread it seems as if MSD isnt going to help much in that department, as well as try to sell us some "special" relay......guess ill start researching some more, i appreciate the link though, good info to know.......

I'm not using any special relay and don't know anything about it. So as far as I'm concerned it's not needed. It might be for use with the DIS system or something. I'm pretty sure I have the 8956 and I sent it in to be modded. I'm pretty sure the 9856-1 needs to be modded as well, there is an issue with voltage. Here's another thread.

thanx for the other link! odd that by now they havent come up with a switch that doesnt need moddified. they should stock some modified units & just charge the extra $30 on top of the original price......anyways, the help is always appreciated!

Besides, i think NOS, if not abused...is in theory a better way of going. A tt or s/c is constantly ramming that air/fuel mixture into the car. I just want a little oomph, when someone is thinking that you're stock... then ya "arm it"..... heh heh.

lopchild i probably wont get a nitrous kit until a few weeks...had to put on my kit on orderd a popcharger grounding kit, nismo titanium shift and nismo floor mats...My car looks tight with the kit but i think it needs a spoiler...But i rather have some hp..alot of car this past weekend wanted to race like z28, ss, cobra..i feel stock would not do the trick but with a litte juice would help me out a great deal.. probably get it mid next month thats when i'll order the nitrous kit..i'll let u know how it goes..I will have my friends dad install the kit..he owns his own import auto shop here in Ft. Worth TX and installs alot on nx to different cars..he him self has a NSX, 2000 porshe both running on 150shot nx..And his son with a 2000 Acura type R with a turbonetics turbo..his engine is fully rebuilt and runs 10.9 11.'s he has everything u can think of done to that car that thing is a beast in the 1/4 hella fast no NX though and he is thinking about it too...His dad did all the installs on the car..i will get some pics and show you..And i will get some insight on the Nitrous area and let u know what i did...

looks tight..and i bet it sounds tight too..i havent did any sound work to mine only had my car for a month and a hlaf now...But i will..i really like the Avic n-1 by pioneer might get that..But first i need juice...plenty of car here in dallas/ft. worth are looking to race and i feel that i will have a better chance with NX..I think i may go with NX thats what My friends Dad got both on his cars but then again they both have rebulit engine both with internal upgrades pistons/cams etc..but i will tell him what i want and see what he thinks is the best way to go and the safest...and i will get some pics of my car and my friends car and his dad's..
Right now: I have chrome bolt set for engine, and greddy brushed aluminum strut bar on the way to complete engine. 15mm Spacers for rear on the way for wheels, and ings+1 spoiler for the body kit!!!! All items en route, and my car will be DONE! I am going to retake pix at that point with a good camera....

this one is the best part! Note the TWO Screens on dash. Factory nav, with ddx-7015 dvd player head as second unit + audio. 1100 watts of pure pleasure. (or pain, depending on volume settings!)
yeah, that bling took me 2.5 months of no driving!! Had everything going on at once. Sound, bodywork, engine, exhaust, etc.... never thought i'd get it back together.
99% of work done myself....cuz the 1% i had done elsewhere got F&*^$&D up. probably saved 3K in labor on that sound system alone... No wires shown whatsoever, not even through door hinge. Amps are mounted behind glove box, suspended from roof of glove box so as not to trap heat(if mounted against body, etc...). I just designed a fan system I am putting in the glove box area as well to circulate air through there.
Its so cool(no pun intended), when you turn on audio, two fans fire up one sucking, one blowing(we like that action!)pulling hot air out of glove box area. I have two fully functional glove boxes too, with no amps visible anywhere. A theif would be quite puzzled if he tried to steal the wattage.....

I dont even know what they're there for. I just thought it looked cool! jk. I am mostly f-ing with the audio settings half the time I am driving. Seems each audio song needs to be fine tuned for my system....(probably my picky *** being particular....)
the bottom screen plays dvd's etc.. but I have only tried it to make sure it worked. I never go anywhere with that car far. just for toodling around, shows, etc... so no real opportunity to watch any movies. (yet!)

He now faces two counts of vehicular manslaughter because the prosecutor claims the screen was active when he was driving. IMO it's just too much of a risk to have screens installed. Theft, distraction, etc. Does look hella nice though.
