Question Buying a 350. Keep the n2o kit or not?

I am in the process of buying a 350Z touring here in miami. The guy installed an injen cold air intake and a nitro tank and kit. He says it has a safety switch on the center console and one under the gas pedal. I have never had n2o before. He says he would leave it in the 350Z or remove it and give me a $500.00 discount on price. Should I keep it? What should I like look for to make sure it was installed correctly? How bad is it on the engine? He said he has it set for a blast of 50, is that a safe level? He says he hardly uses the n2o, and that when it's not on, the engine runs like the n2o is not there. Is that true? Will the warranty still cover the car with n2o installed? Thanks for your time guys, just a rookie trying to do the right thing.

A 50 shot is a very conservative shot. Most guys have said they couldn't even feel it. If it was installed correctly then you should have no prblems. When the n20 is not activated your engine runs normal. As for warranty, you need to find a really cool service writer @ a dealership.

What is a safe but good shot? Should I take it to a shop and have them check out the install?

Yes, take it to a respectable shop and ask them to check it out. Did the person install their own kit or did they have a shop do it. As for the safe thing it all depends. There's only been 1 Z motor blow up due to n20 that I know of and they were running a 250 shot. 75 is safe with stock plugs and up to 125 with 1 step colder plugs. After that it's all tuning your can to the shot you want to run.

All depends on the buying price, however, I would not buy it if it was me.

How many miles and how long has he had the NoS in the car?

Most dealers will not warranty the car, in fact if they see it has NoS, they void it right then and there.

He told me he installed the tank and ran the lines. But he had a shop drill the holes and do the electrical work. How much does it cost to install a NoS tank and kit?
