Don't do it - it will mess with VDC/TCS. 245/275 are the standard widths but they work when the profile (35 vs 30) is the same. Do 245/35 and 275/35. If you're looking for something a little meatier, 255/35 and 285/35 works.

dang, i was looking through the 19" well thread and alot of people used that setup...and i found a federal 595 SS package for $590 shipped to my door

When you say it will mess with the vcd/tcs, how exactly will it affect it can i just turn the vcd off each time i get in?

Yeah, I am running 275/35/19 & 245/35/19 with lowered springs, and it works fine, and has enough meat on the tire. You can check www.tirerack.com for pretty good pricing and brand range on those sizes.

VDC and TCS work off of the relative speeds of your front and rear wheels. The computer expects the rear wheels to turn slower because they are about 0.7" taller than the fronts.

If you look at the OD of the size you suggested, 245/35/19 are 25.8" diameter and 275/30/19 are 25.5" diameter. The rears will be shorter than the fronts, not taller.

The most common complaint among people who have accidently gone with that setup are that the Slip light comes on and power gets cut during hard accleration and/or fast turns. Some have it happen when driving down the interstate in a straight line. It just depends on the car and how sensitive TCS/VDC is on it.

Naturally, you can turn it off but then you lose the protection that it provides plus the hassle of having to turn it off all the time.

Keep in mind that the wrong size tire also throws off your speedo, odometer and can hurt your gas mileage.

To keep in line with the OEM sizes, you have to go 295/30/19 on the rear.

What width wheels are you running? That has a lot to do with the width tires you pick. If you have 9½" rears, then 295's may be too wide.

Edit: forgot to mention my wheels are 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear

The second number in the tire size specification is the "profile ratio". It's the percent of the width that is the height of the tire sidewall. For example, a 245/35/19 has a sidewall approximately 245*0.35 = 86mm. The /30/ tire is 5% shorter than the /35/ tire.

With 8½"/9½" wheels, you don't want to get much bigger than 245/275 tires.

If you're looking to get inexpensive tires, check out this thread...
