Dustin,

would working in an Engineer/Architect firm be the kind of work you do? if so, i know the owner of "Meyer Engineers" here in New Orleans and *if* they have an opening i *might* be able to put in a good word for you..

small family run business, but last time i was there they had some hella eye candy working for them..

That would be sweet, but it's still kind of ghost town out there, with only 40-50% of pre-Katrina population. It's getting better, but it is a slow process...we need the Village back!

That would be ideal. I'm mainly a draftsman. At the moment, I am in the marine industry. I work closely with the port engineer, which is over of maintenance of our vessels. We take care of 3 hopper dredges, 3 crew boats, and a couple anchor barges. I wasn't technically given the name but I was basically project manager over the building of our new anchor barge. I designed and looked over everything except the hydraulics. I don't really do much engineering work but I do some. I have designed quite a bit of structural and some mechanical items. I have also designed a few fluidization and jet water systems on the dredges. Plus other misc. things.

cool. I might have to give the a look if I plan on moving there. The hardest part would be to get Heather to move. She doesn't want to go anywhere now because of her new job.

I can probably get a hook-up at Blessey Marine because he used to own the Toyota my dad works at. Him and my father became good friends and I know my dad keeps in touch with him.

The man is pretty nice, when I was about 15 he gave me the keys to his Porsche and told me I could go for a spin....fawking dad took the keys from me.

My girlfriends dad is in a company called Jacob's down here and they are hiring up to 5,000 people who can do CNC/Drafting/Engineers. Pay is amazing but you work 60+ hours 6 days a week and you travel a lot. If any of this is something you're looking for hit me up and I'll see what info I can get.
