A helical will send the power to the wheel with the most grip. If by chance one wheel is off the ground it will act like a open diff and just spin the wheel that's in the air.

Helical's need some sort of resistance to operate. Like Bradley said, if one wheel would go up into the air it will act as an open diff. But I've never seen a Z do this, even Braldey on the R-Comps. As for me I 3-wheel it into and out of my driveway every time. I helped install Chi's Quafe(sp?)helical. It felt pretty good but I really didn't get to beat on it. I was just throwing that option out there.
I say do some more research and find out what you would want from the diff. Pros and cons of both and than decide. Don't let someone tell you to get a certain diff and them have no reason to back it up just because they have one.
