yea, just make sure you are gonna stay there for a few years.
not worth all the closing costs, and hassle for only 1-2year type of deal.
I'm in the same boat, trying to decide on what and when to buy (house/condo) I might get something close enough to LSU that I can rent it out when I move. I just don't want to live too close since I don't party on weekdays anymore.
I wanted something in town, safe, and didn't have to pay a killing for.
I'm out of school now, and I live across town from work (about 10-15min drive), but a lot closer to family, and a lot closer for my gf to goto work. Pretty much in the middle of everything.
It makes things a lot easier, because before I used to live on the other side of town and I never wanted to visit family cause it was 30min one way, now its 15min.
^ Location, like everyone says, is key. One of the reasons I'm not in a huge rush to get into anything is because my apt is across the street >.25 mi from work. Takes me 4 minutes to get to work with BR traffic
By the way, did everyone make it out ok with all that wind last night. My old room mates in Laf said that a huge tree fell on their house last night. (no one hurt)
dang that sux the wind was very badd over here in k-town and my mom has like all these littel things in the yard i was scared that they would fly into my car... but its all good
