Your amp is starving for power, that is the reason it is shutting off, and coming on every now and then. Probably at higher volumes. Check for corrosion around the terminals, and if there is none, you need to upgrade the battery, and probably a bigger ground on the battery also. Check this out, it is what I am running. http://www.kinetikaudio.com/powercells.asp
This is the first time my amp has not been working, and it didnt work at all until the next day (I didn't check it). My sirius usually goes out a lot and is shakey. The battery is new, but may be under powered. I still think I have a short in me and my dad's make shift wiring job. Something is rattling behind my radio too, so maybe it pulled the wire almost loose.
If checking all of those connections and battery terminal yield no results , I'll consider upgrading the power cables.

Fag, or Faggot (slang), an American generally pejorative word or slur for a homosexual, especially a homosexual man, or for men who are judged to be "unmanly", weak or effeminate; in modern usage the word can be used as a general insult irrespective of sexuality or gender
Usage:
I was driving down the interstate today and got my shit pushed in from the rear. I guess that makes me a fag.

shawn that's some good advice, but it doesn't really accurately describe my issues.
