I think the reason is because the stock studs will stick out past the spacer and prevent the wheel from bolting up flat to the spacer surface.

I had the 10mm kics spacers w/ the SF Challenges and luckily volks come with a hubcentric ring. I'm guessing that most aftermarket rims come with hubcentric rims?

No, not most, but my Volk's came with them too. As many wheels as we do, I rarely see the rings come with the wheels.

I was pretty sure of it. I don't really have much experience pushing it in a S chassis except for the 10-15 minutes I had in Justin's s14. Justin had street tires on when I ran it on the autox course. Let's not forget more power than a stock Z.
