We are going to Phil's grill, and I was checking to see if you were in town.
I went there last week, mmmmmm.
Im just about done my install and had a few questions. There are two wires I have left to connect:
Reverse signal wire and parking break signal wire.
1) I need to connect the reverse wire to make sure the GPS works correctly, right? Where can I find the wire at? I have foind a few threads that say ints near the fuses by the drivers side footpanel. The wire from the harness is green, and there are 2 or 3 green wires down by the fuse box. Any ideas?
2) The parking brake signal wire is connected to the parking brake wire so the unit will know what position the parking brake is in and not play DVDs, correct? So can I jsut leave that not connected to anything or do I need to ground it?
ur gonna wanna have it on a constant ground so it thinks the parking brake is always on. this way u can watch movies or mess with the navi while driving.
GPS should work regardless of if the reverse wire is connected or not. do u have a backup camera? if not then this wire is pointless to connect for you. your thinking of the VSS (speed sensor) wire. this make your GPS more accurate when GPS reception is poor. mine is not connected and my GPS signal is fine all the time so i see no difference.
I think I have the speed sensor connected properly, but the nav doesnt seem to be working properly. The arrow turns properly when my car turns, but the position changes around every ten seconds. Most navigation systems Ive seen are pretty quick when updating the position. Any ideas what this may be? Speed sensor not connected correctly?
