I'm going to probably sell the motor to a local place. Jason was interested, but being I'm in Shreveport, it would probably be more trouble than it's worth.
They didn't take it apart-- it wouldn't move at all, so there was really no point.
The general conscensus is that it's probably a bent rod, but we don't know for sure.
Damian....what the story with the diff? That oil should've been just fine. I changed it right about 200 miles before you bought it. It was doing just fine when I had it.[/QUOTE]

Dustin, i don't think it was the oil that was bad, the diff went bad. . .i changed the oil in it to see if it would help the squeeling and knocking but it didn't. . .it finally threw in the towel and went boom and started leaking everwhere. . .so if Nissan doesn't notice the diff. and they replace it under warranty it will save me some money for now. . .but if they don't then i'm just gonna get a new Quaife and 4.08's and install it myself. . .it'll save me a whole bunch of labor costs. . .
it's movie night. . .i've got seven rented movies to go through. . .
edit: forgot to mention when i pulled the oil plug there was quite a bit of metal shavings on it. . .i'm guessing pinion gears went bad. . .it still accelerated smooth but i didn't want to drive it anymore. . .

Weird that it would go out like that. When I changed the oil, the plug had no shavings on it. How have you been driving? Just normal street driving?

tried to get the top nut off the coilover using just a wrench and was not happening. even using vice grips to stop the turning. so i hesitated to pull out the impact wrench cause everyone online says not to use one. but my little electric one isnt super powerful. so thing spun right off with it no problem. swapped the upper mounts to the revised version, and now its quiet!
