I didn't look at what I'll have to be paying a month on the student loans after school if that's what you mean. That's just the price for the car after a down payment.

Hmm, I'll sell my Bose HU with the PAC adapter if you want man. I just need to get an HU first.

With the PAC, you can run external amps since the guy cut the harnesses.

That's actually good because when I first bought the car, the guy took the amp so it didn't have one at all. I then bought a 300 or 600 watt rockford fosgate which is in the car now all ghetto rigged.

I already looked into that, my car is only worth 18k at best and I financed it for 21k after TT&L and I bought it in December. I'd have to sell it out right just to break even, and my only bit of money down on a new car would be what I get from a loan.

hmm.. well i would only do it if you were going to use it for a down payment. you can upgrade your car to an 07.. or you can upgrade your car to a beast.

I'm running my two amps off the Bose HU just fine. I just need a HU

Honestly that's what I wanted to do all along, but my girlfriend talked sense into me, LOL.

I was thinking of maybe using some of a loan to get twins/reinforced stroked block/and other small minor engine pieces/rims, and then using the rest to put towards the car itself.

I agree with Thomas. In your situation, I would just upgrade your current Z. Don't worry about getting a new one just yet. Fix the little nic nac things and start modding.

Yeah... don't forget that there is nothing really out for the 07 either.

If I were upgrade Z's, I'd wait until they release the new model

Curious, is your HU a 6 disc? If I'm not mistaken you have the single because of your model? Either way, anything could do for now I suppose. I do want to get an aftermarket setup though, Soleil's setup was sweet and it was a good deal, I just don't chit about audio so I don't know what to look for.

Seriously, you're talking mad cash if you want to build your motor and TT your car. You're looking at about $30000 range if you have to pay for labor. And that's not really that expensive. Some of these guys spend way more than that.

His is the single, I have the 6 disc changer.

If you're looking to do built motor and TT, you're looking at 20k at least.

I wasn't looking for the most insane build, just putting the twins on it and making sure the motor can handle it daily. I just want to get close to 350-400rwhp without worrying about something breaking because of me driving it daily.

How much is LEE spending on his build?

Lee is selling his car.

Honestly, 350-400whp is not really pushing the motor to the limit. If I were only going for that much I'd do it on the stock motor but then again... Nothing is really "safe"

this is what you do. Trade your block + cash for a built block. Buy the twins and all accessories needed to get it going.

This next step is very important. BUY CORONAS. Find out when i'm going to be home off of work. Invite me over. I would help ya out with any install that serious.
I would think long and hard about what kind of HP goals you want and if you are going to be daily driving the car and all the in's and outs. I have my goals in mind and i've been thinking of what to do. I wish i would have waited and not got this single turbo. i've got my money's worth out of it, but if i knew what i wanted to do down the road only months later.. i would have waited.

That's what I would do if I wanted to get a built motor. I would just buy a built motor from a company who sells them. Sell my motor or just keep it as a spare. Buy my tt set up. Then buy some beer and get to turning wrenches. Good plan Thomas. I'll make sure you're around when I get started. If I decide to go FT, It'll be about 2 years until I actually get started.

Why is LEE selling the car? Thought he was putting twins on it?

Trust me I've been throwing the turbo idea around for a while. I'm not new to the turbo scene because I've had turbo MR2's, so I have a pretty good idea of what I'm looking for and need to do. I was seriously about to buy the Turbonetics single about a month ago when I had the cash and decided to wait when I read up about power outputs from the different kits. I think the Greddy Twin would be the best setup and leave me with the most room for upgrades later on for my price range. Honestly if I was going to build a beast I wouldn't want to go past 500whp for the simple fact it's almost pointless to track. 450whp seems fair with a beefed up suspension honestly.

WTF is QFT?

350-400 is not hard to achieve. If you're looking for this kind of power, then you can go with a single turbo, twin, procharger, or supercharger. Then get a good engine management system and a good tune. You won't have to use high boost to get to that range. You can use this on a stock motor.
