I need both, but I think I found a shop here in lafayette that will do it for a reasonable price. Hopefully he can replace the flex pipe for not too much also.

About the flex pipe, you do need it. You need to have it there for flexibility of the pipe when the motor is running/moving. Not having the flex pipes would cause stress cracks in the weld areas due to the vibration. The flex pipes will help to reduce the stress when vibration occurs.
