I have an 03 performance and mine does the same thing on first gear too... except it doesn't rev 4k to move... even though it seems to be slipping, I never smelled anything burning.. weird

just wondering did purchase the car from carmax? if so, the extended warranty doesn't cover the clutch kit... Only if you are still in the first 30-days warranty would the clutch disc, pressure plate, and flywheel be covered. anyway... just fyi

 

Get with those guys, and they might be able to drive it up there for you.
