Road debris and road kill are a big hassle too. I ran over an Armadillo (he/she actually got trapped between the frame and the road and drug Texas style for a few hundred yards before coming loose) and hit like a 3/4" piece of plywood going under Acadian Thruway train bridge in the same night.

I hit a piece of wood under the Acadian overpass a few years ago too. Weird.

I'm really nervous about driving to Lafayette this weekend with the APR splitter. If there's an iPod in the road on its side, the splitter is fuct.

The Mines lip is already fuct. I might have it refinished in a few weeks when I put the Z in the shop to replace all the bushings.

my upcoming Z agenda:
  • Vortech install
  • tune
  • replace bushings & fix lip
  • remove sliders on my seats (& get a quick release steering wheel for easy in/out?)
  • get ready for track days

Apparently some kids bit it on Hwy 70 after IFO:
http://www.wafb.com/Global/story.asp?S=12060020

People always drive like *******s on 70 when leaving events at NPR. There was a guy who was a safety steward for the Cenla autocross region who died when he crashed his Viper at 180+.

I grew up taking that road every time I went to Baton Rouge-- it's so long & straight, it's really tempting to speed excessively, but when combining that with the general riffraff IFO seems to attract, you have a recipe for disaster.

I hope the innocent people they hit end up OK.

No, just reputations.

I just did a report for my "Sociology of the Criminal justice system" on police deviance; it was eye opening to say the least. I plan to go Fed after I graduate(ATF hopfully) and I never want to be like some of these *****. Power changes good people in bad ways.

Yep. It's how cops get bad raps. Local cops give staties bad names.

Jeez, looks like the officer got off easy too. I thought you get like 50 hours of community service for a DWI normally.
