I usually carry mine if I know I'm going to be out some where late or something, or if I'm driving some place strange/dangerous. I either keep mine in the hatch if I'm riding a passenger or on the floorboard of the passenger's side if I'm not. Mine came in like a black plastic carrying case, so it's pretty easy to tote around for the most part.
Another good place to keep it though is in the rear glove compartment (behind the passenger's seat), but I don't know if that would be considered a 'concealed weapon' or not...

Well, according to Louisiana's state law, your car is basically like your home. If someone is trying to enter your car to harm you, you have the right to use lethal force. Now, I don't go around advertising it by keeping it plain view, but I don't hide it either. The case that I carry clearly reads, ''GLOCK'', so that's pretty obvious. And as long as you notify a cop if you ever get pulled over or anything that you do indeed have a weapon in the vehicle when he asks you, you should be okay. And if I remember correctly, you either can't have it loaded, ie...one in the chamber, or you can't have the magazine in it.

I keep mine in the little plastic pocket on the side of the Driver seat. It fits there like it was made for it. That way if i ever need to get at it quick i dont have to dig around or move the seat forward to get into the glove box.
Here is the deal with guns in you car from the self proclaimed expert:
As stated above, in Louisiana your vehicle is an extension of your home and therefore subject to most of the freedoms of your home. That being said, in Louisiana you can have a loaded firearm (mag inserted, round in chamber, safety off... whatever you crazies do) anywhere in your car.
The two exceptions to this rule are:
1) You cannot conceal it on your person unless you have a CCW(Concealed Weapon) permit
2) You cannot conceal it in any purses, bags, suitcase... unless you have a CCW permit.
The exception to exception 2 is that it can be contained in something identifying it as a firearm (gun case, holster, range bag...)
In addition, you can bring your gun on school property (parking lot) or any other off-limit place as long as it is contained 100% in your vehicle.
If you are pulled over it is wise to tell the officer you have a firearm only if he ask or if it is near your driver info (don't want him to think your going for the gun). If he doesn't ask, don't tell him. Once you tell him there is a gun in the car you pretty much wave your rights of search and seizure on the car. Remember, cops like to use (read abuse) their power and they love fools who consent to searches because "I got nothing to hide officer." Make them work hard to do their jobs.
That being said, I usually go to school in the mornings and keep my pistol in the glove box where it is locked-up and out of sight. While riding to and from work I keep it on the passenger seat covered by my work shirt so other drivers don’t see it and freak out.(Yes I have a CCW permit)
Credentials: -I've worked at a gun store for the past 5 years
-More than 50% of my friends are cops
-Criminal Justice Major at LSU
-I assist my brother in teaching CCW classes
