That could be the factor but alot of the time cheap shops do fast and shitty work and more than likey they use cheap paint materials. thats what probably happened in your buddys case.

Not with your help I won't...... hahahah

I learned how to paint in a Corrosion Control school and then spent a year painting F/A-18 Jets (6 years ago). I did all the wet sanding and prep on my 1st project car and a friend's dad in Alabama painted it for me (9 years ago). The clear coat is the only thing that kind of worries me....

Well to get a matte finish all you use is a white sealer and use a protectant coating for the top uv layer. cant use clear or itll be shiney. but on white itd be hard to mess up the matte finish. but i still wouldnt do it myself

id R&I everything then bring it to the paint shop just for paint.

no i havnt done a 350z but done quite a few frameless doors like so. whatever you do try and leave the glass in. there is so much alignment with frameless windows (alignment with glass). but it you just leave glass in and replace motor youll be fine. just undo glass from window then replace motor or regulator assy

Any suggestions for getting the window up for the time being? Weather looks fine through the night, but I might not be able to get to it tomorrow.

You have to pull it from the top of the glass, and hold the switch up simultaneously, or lightly bang on the door around the middle of it where the motor is, and hold the switch. I went through 3 motors on that stupid car, and I don't miss it....

The banging method was working for a few weeks, but doesnt seem to be working anymore. I guess it's reached its limit.

The window is all the way in the down position, so I guess I'd have to stick something in there to grab the window and pull it up.

Also thinkin about painting my calipers, any suggestions?

Thanks
Depending on what route you go, it can be easy or a PITA.

Unfortunately for me, I've done both routes but I've spent a good bit of time and money doing so. I wish I would have forked up the money before I went through all the trouble. Good equipment and installs are not cheap.

How much do you think the typical pay for a Valet job in the city would be. . .

Bang a little harder, it will come up, and try it with the door open, and closed.

+1

It's a real PITA. If the window comes up just a little bit, just grab that bish and pull it up.

I had the same thing happen last winter. The window was stuck and no amount of banging, slamming, grabbing... Would make it go up. I had to end up taking the door panel off and pushing the window up from the bottom and then pulling it up. It sucks but there is a thread on taking the door apart

Been banging and punching and slamming very aggresively with no luck. I'm nervous I'll screw something up even more. Tried with door open and closed, etc.

Should I get in there with some pliers just to pull it up a little?

I saw that one last night when I was searching. It is for an older, passenger side window. Anything I should take into account when doing the driver's side on a newer model?
