Official NolaZcc Thread
With a weekend's supply of luggage, 1/3 tank of gas, (probably) heavier-than-stock Work Meisters, & a Borla exhaust (lighter than stock), my car weighed in at 3210 lbs.
I bet my 03 is probably slightly lighter than the 06+ on account of the miscellaneous creature comforts you guys have (leather pad on arm rest as opposed to my awful plastic).
Anyone familiar with putting a door panel back on and/or fixing/cleaning a window motor?
I tried all the banging and punching techniques to get my drivers side window up, and none work; they used to but I think the motor finally reached that point where its just not going to work anymore right now.
I saw another thread where the guy took his out, and cleaned it and it worked again. I removed the outer, plastic door panel as well as the metal interior one. Now my motor is hanging there somewhat loosely and the window is resting at the bottom it appears. I doubt I should be driving it around as is, so I'd at least like to get the window up manually for the time being.
I guess I'd like to exhaust all my options (cleaning, tweaking) before I buy a new motor to replace. I have not tried to take it apart or clean it yet. This is my next course of action, but want to see if anyone knows a bit more about it before I do that.

im sorry but i dont know of anything. i would say try putting a 12v source to the motor connection but if the motors shot its done. doubt theres anything to do. search craigslist for a part out. theres always z's being parted out in our surrounding areas if your on a budget.

hmmm, if you have a multi-meter you could check to make sure the switch is still getting power. once you rule that out, it would have to be the motor. i've never heard of anyone being able to fix a motor. your best bet would probably be to order a new motor (less than $100 on Amazon/Ebay) and leave the car in the garage until it comes in.
I dont remember all the internals of the door when we swtiched out my glass but i think you can loosen it from the cradle and raise it up. Then try to cut a board or something to fit in there and hold it up to keep the bugs out. I DEF wouldnt drive it around with it rigged up like that though...
Z Enthusiast - any word on painting my hood and bumper? Also the bumper needs to be fitted and drilled. It doesnt have any pre-drilled holes.... Let me know, I get my wheels back friday and the car will be ready to roll...
