Detroit Area Z List part 3

I liked the UTEC, but I also like Osiris. My $0.02:
UTEC pros:
- Easy to tune/tweak AFR and timing maps.
- Knock sensitivity settings are adjustable, along with timing retard step/duration
UTEC cons:
- Need UTEC tuner to read AFR, and tuner requires welding additional bung/O2 sensor.
- Timing maps need corrections at different temps. Factory ECU has algorithm to determine timing based on environmental variables. Since UTEC overrides factory timing, adjusting timing temp corrections is time-consuming
Osiris pros (assuming user-tuneable version):
- Can tweak in real time, and 'trace' your pulls on the AFR matrix, so you know which cells to change
- Cipher can bump timing 2 degrees across the board
- Can log AFR from factory O2 sensors (through OBD2 port), along with dozens of other parameters
- 5 maps can be stored on your factory ECU, and changed with the cruise control switches
- Can tweak Electronic Throttle Control settings and Cam Advance
Osiris cons:
- A little more difficult to tune in AFR
- Timing not in degrees, but in 'burn time' -- more difficult to adjust
- Knock sensitivity not adjustable, and timing retard (during knock) doesn't work anywhere near as well as UTEC
- Have to reflash your ECU every time you want to make permanent changes

As you can tell I have no fricken idea what Im talking about. LOL
H8bumps knows his stuff, I would take his opinions into consideration and just call some of the vendors or other reputable Z shops.
It all depends on what you are doing to the car.

Nice attempt on trying to focus the attention away from question that is in of all of our minds. "Where the F*ck is your Z man"
