Sweet! Sure thing. Have you ordered the harnesses and stuff for it yet? I haven't ever had to wire a Bose system.. lets hope it's not too bad. [/QUOTE]

its not bad at all, I installed mine and it took me 45 min. I used this harness from ebay, its great I didn't have to cut any wires.

Having stock nav means having the bose system doesn't it? Bose stereos are a notorious pain in the *** to get working.

I have a couple Honda (Acura) start buttons. If one of you guys wants to try to get them to work, you can have them.

The silver/black bezel is a separate piece, and I have some of those too. I also have unpainted (only black) bezels.

Double posting cuz I got sidetracked with the start button conversation...

I'm thinking about trying to install a clear bra myself. Wondering if any of you are thinking about doing it. Maybe a good idea for a mod party???

XPEL sells bulk film. I would probably buy some bulk film, and practice on my bumper first so I can get the hang of it. http://www.xpel.com/products/bulk.asp

Then once I'm ready, I'd probably install an Aerogard kit from Clearmask, since the pre-cut kits are cheaper than XPEL's. http://www.clearmask.com/

Anyone interested?

Hell Yeah!

My V2 is at the body shop right now getting painted. I really wanted to clear bra it before installing. (Makes the job a lot easier.) I hear the thicker bulk film is more difficult to get to lay in complicated areas. (But better protection.)

LMK where and when. Of course I will pay you for materials used.

Ok! I've read horror stories of them not liking new head units. Does the amp take line output or preamp? I've not even seen the back of one of 'em.

Its pre amp I believe, This was my first time working on a Bose system and it worked fine, so if I can do it you can do it. I can take the panel when i get a chance and take a few pix if you want.Good luck!

I'll buy the beer if the both of you tackle the task. LOL
I hate wiring. It's really nothing to it, but for some reason I just don't trust my workmanship. I'd be looking for this to go in anytime between the 14th and the 19th. (I'm taking the 17-19th off to prep for ZdayZ.)

I'll wire it up like I did the one in my 370... Took me a couple hours but it will never fall apart. Good mechanical solder connections with heat shrink tubing on the outside. I've never taken all that time before. For some reason I'm treating this car better... Make sure you remember an antenna adapter if it's necessary. I drove all over town to find one for the 370/versa.

Wish I could take off time for ZdayZ. :P I'm probably going to be working out some way to make up for the work I'll miss on Thursday/Friday. That's the worst part about being a contractor... No paid vacations and I'm still catching up from taxes.

Rob: I got a Microcenter flyer with a GREAT deal on the i7-930 or 860. Either one $199. I don't know the differences in the cores, but that is almost $100 cheaper than newegg. Might be able to come in right about budget (before taxes ) : with their advertised sales.

^ Thanks Lee, but I found out that SC2 works on my laptop. So I think I'm gonna hold off until I absolutely need one. But damn, that's an awesome deal, I should just buy it because it's so cheap lol

I did some more research (busy day at work!!!) and I'm leaning toward ordering from this site: http://www.cleardefender.com/

They offer both 3M and Ventureshield clear bras, and from what I've read, 3M can have a slight orange peel look to it after it's installed. The Ventureshield material is more pliable and easier to work with while installing, so I think I'm leaning toward the Ventureshield material.

For $150 you can get a bumper kit. On top of that, I'm thinking I'll need a few feet of bulk material to practice (and to cut material for my mirrors). So total price should be under $200.

Are you just gonna do the bumper?

I have 3M installed on mine by a certified installer. At the time I was also deciding between 3M and VentureShield and went the 3M way. I remember that VS was not as thick as 3M and/or changed color sooner than 3M. However, I have heard the other way around as well ... that VS is better than 3M. We'll see what happens. I do have 3M installed 2 yrs back on a black car and have no discoloration that I can tell.

Also, since I got the install done at a certified installer I have a 5 yr warranty on peeling and discoloration including labor and material paid for. I think the installer told me that VS only covered material and that you'd have to pay for the labor. But I am sure he was trying to say his product was better. Just my 2 cents, hope that helps.

Since I have a non-standard bumper, a kit wouldn't work for me so it would have to be custom. I thought about having someone do it but $600 is a lot of money for my cracked fiberglass bumper.

I'm going with a two bumper setup. Bumper #1 will be my daily driver. The bumper is cracked and I just had it reworked for all the rock chips. This is the one I want to do. The other bumper, (not ordered yet) will be for shows and events. I will have this one professionally done.

If there is material left, I my do the lower edge of the hood and fenders. The mirrors have CF covers so they are set.

I have no idea how much bulk material I would need for the bumper. How much is it per foot?

Depends on the width. @ 30 inches wide, it's $16/ft. @ 58 inches wide, it's $36/ft.

Default SS Lines install?

Brian and AJ would you guys have some time today or over the weekend to help me out with the SS lines install? If you do, I can either drive to your place OR if you can stop by I can set the car on jacks and have the wheels off by the time you come over.

Sometime tomorrow would be OK. I've got my Z back in the garage and it will soon be back up on stands. So your house is ok.

AJ, If you come, I can hand you the tools you left at my place.
