Question Any MN Z's out there?

My Z arrives the 2nd week of May.

So far I have only seen two Z's on the road in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area.

Just wondering if anyone from this board is in the area

Default Yup

I live in the south metro area (Rosemount to be exact, on the border of apple valley)

I've seen a silverstone twice (same guy by my work) a Chrome Silver twice (I assume its same guy, seen him on the same stretch of road, like within a mile of eachother) and seen 1 Lemans sunset last night on 62/Crosstown going east.

I personally have a Brickyard Touring, which is my "sunday" driver. I only take it out when the traffic isn't bad, and the weather is good.

If your a car nut in general I suggest heading over to www.mnsportcompact.net. I hang out there, and a bunch of other car nuts do too. We have a meet coming up on april 19th if your interested. Never too soon to get to know people.

Look forward to seeing another Z around!

Thanks for the replys Bazazu & Hockeygabor

Just out of curiosity have either of you guys experianced any of the issues often noted on this sight?

The wait is killing me now that the weather is nice. (3-4 weeks to go)

I live in South Minneapolis (lake Nokomis area) I'll keep my eyes open for you guys.

Bzazu, thanks for the local web-sight info I'll check it out and speaking of Sunday drivers, any suggestions on fun roads to drive in the area?

I'm planning a trip down Hyw 61 (The River Road) to La cross WI shortly after I pick up my car.

MrLoutish!

That is the million dollar question! The roads up here are so bad, it kind of sucks to drive. My daily commute takes me down 62 - from 77 all the way to 169. 62 is a HORRID road. I will never take my Z down that road. Places that I drive...

Highway 3 in the rosemount area. Its somewhat wooded and very twisty in places. Theres a few turnoffs that are pretty scenic as well.

I travel out to hastings around 55 and 52, usually make a big loop and see whats out there from time to time.

Other than that it hasn't been many places. Took it to my Dad's awhile ago, but thats about the farthest journey she's taken.

Hockey - Where did you see the brickyard? Might of been me, I hit 494 a few times recently. I know thats not NE suburbs, but you might of been traveling there.

Anyway, yea, its hard to find really good roads. Some of the people on mnsportcompact.net have some good places, but they are a long ways away. Some good places up north, but plan on making it an all day event. Also some decent roads along the river, I think 61 is pretty decent. Havn't tried it though.

I noticed the brickyard on hwy 96 in Arden hills close to my home...yeah ,the roads are crappy everywhere and they are still messed up with sand/salt.
If you guys want to meet up at Porky's sometime maybe we could pick a date in the next couple of weeks?

Porky's... is that the place on University in the midway, where all the clasic muscle cars park on Fri/Sat nights?

HWY 61 from Lakeville (lake Pepin) to Winona is a great drive, two lanes and twisty with great view of the river the whole way. I have family in La cross and have driven that rout many times. Never in anything like the Z though......

(FYI MPLS to La Cross on 61 is 3 - 3.5hrs one way. )

counting the days

Hocky -

Didn't mean to suggest Muscle only, those are just the cars I recall seeing at Proky's. (Some kick *** Muscle as I recall )

I have seen many imports down the road from Porky's as well.

To date I've only driven by the midway on Fri/Sat cuz my destination took me past at that time.

Looked like a lot of interesting rides... I'll have to stop and check it out some time.

I hear the Turf Club right there on University has good live music some times.

Sorry for the delay (babysitting for a relative = no computer time this weekend)

I went through Walser Nissan in Burnsville. Jeffery Gunderson was/is my salesman. Very nice experiance thus far, none of the "how can we get you in a car today" BS. When I told them I wanted to order a car they asked me 1 time if I would rather have them "find" one for me, but when I said I want to order and be the only one to drive it, they said, "No problem" and since have invited me to come down the day it arrives and drive it to and from the gas station piror to tech inspection etc. (I hope they follow through on what to this point has been great cusotmer service)

.......So the car.....

Brickyard Red
Track
Mats (front and back)
Kickplates
Splachgards
No navi
No side airbags

Been spending my time reading everyting I can get my hands on about the car. (I have read the manual twice already... I may have a problem
)
