I want a subaru forester or outback 2.5 turbo, but they are way too much money. everyone shys away from audis due to maintenance, but I found the major concerns aren't really that major. For a comparable subi, I am looking at nearly 5 grand more than the audi I am checking out. even if I address all the major concerns, I will still save myself 3-3500 bucks and have a audi to roll in to boot
Man what a busy week this week.. Seems like summer is starting over the way I was working this week. Oh well, got the new hose for the lift so that's fixed, looks like I'll have the Z for the end of October before I put her away, and then I start hibernating. Tho I might get back into snowmobiling this winter. Need somethin to pass the time, or get back into snowboarding.
the audi didn't pan out.
-one cloudy yellow headlight, one new one?
-pass door hinge was bent a bit.... maybe backed into something with the door open?
-rear driver's side air suspension leaking
-dash warped on pass side (probably from heat)
-pass front door molding crinkled -> heat? maybe attempted break in?
-Front tires basically gone, but had a used set to put on... while the rears were decent... hmmm
-had a shimmy in the wheel at highway speeds. likely from the bad tires, but looking at the fronts, an alignment is needed.
- engine bay looked very clean, but motor was down about half a qt of oil... showed about 2k miles on it since last change. not really a concern, but after a 5 mile drive, you could smell some burning oil. Likely a small leak onto the exhaust
- the skid plates were missing from underside of the car
- on the higher side of average wear and tear for a 6-7 yr old car.
I think I might just buy my brother's RX300....

so pulled into the gas station to fill the minivan up... my kid is with. he looks over and sees a silver stockish 350Z at the light (looked to only have lowering springs). He says, "look dad, a Z like yours, but not a fast one"

He's trained well, Aaron. Sounds familiar...
Trav, I'll push it over there if I have to.
So there's only going to be 6 Z's on this season finale? Come on, guys! Let's have some fun!

Nice pic, Alex. That looks badass. Nice to see you coming along with that drifting.
Aaron, I hope you guys make it. Tara's looking forward to the drive and looking at all the scenery. She was even mentioning that she wouldn't mind having people over after the event for drinks and a bonfire.
Her and the bonfires.
