been working on my Z for a few days now. swapping out the hu and elaborate screen/controller setup I had from about 5 yrs ago. simplified things with a new cubby display and HU that isn't everything "ready" and doesn't need additional boxes to do what I wanted to do.

with the rain today, I had some time and some help from tom to get things buttoned up.

HU is an Alpine cde-HD149BT
screen is an Alpine TME-S370

The screen is a little bit of a downgrade, losing about a 1/2" in overall size, but the simplicity of the system is much better. eliminated a lot of wiring from the car:

Printing out the sections of the service manual for the transmission. It has pictures! lol

If anything, I'm giving the mechanics the printouts so they have all the specs they need.

Finally got my new windshield put it, Harmon glass in Burnsville off of 42 and 35w put it in. They did a great job, very clean install, they took their time and were careful not to break the A-pillar or B-pillar, all clips were unbroken and everything went back as it was when I arrived. I couldn't be happier with the work done.

FYI there is a ton of stuff that has to come off for a Z windshield to be put in. Despite what they say when/if you ever get it done, you're gonna want them to put it in at their shop and not at your home/work.

Nope, I had my choice between Nissan or PPG and I went with the PPG. I couldn't belive it was better but it was more clear and wen you looked at it from a side angle it was smoother with less wavy distortion. From what I've read the PPG is less susceptible to pitting and is a "harder glass" than the Nissan, my Lexus glass was replace with PPG and I was really happy with the quality then too.

Do you think they would let you bring a lawn chair and set up for the day just to watch.

The guy who bought my 260 is planning on dropping in a VQ35. I should ask him how that's going.

I just got back from the gym. Unusually slow day today on the roads, which is fine by me.

Thinking of taking the kids to go see Despicable Me 2. They're going stir crazy in the house. In/out, in/out. Can't make up their minds what to do.
