6k and you didn't know about it? If so id be contacting an attorney. That's BS, now if they kept telling you about extra work needed then that's another story, they can't legally blind side you more than 10% over a written estimate by law. (that's they way is used to be in MN anyways) Worth checking into.

There was some extra work but it didn't seem anywhere near worth 6k new control arms front and rear driver side (they bought brand new w/o telling me) I could of saved $400 buying slightly used from slidegood $60 each. fab work on 1 down pipe and 1 waste gate dump pipe.

They quoted me via email when I was in Afghanistan $5,000 for engine,tt,clutch, brakes, coilovers, camber kit, fuel return. They now have the coilover/camber, brakes, fuel all seperate. I am trying to see if i can find that email so I can bring it to a lawyer and see if i can get the bill lowered.

Some of the extra charges made sense and I told him that the head work and the fab work but the other stuff being seperate is costing me almost $3,000 alone. $1,000+ in "parts". It just seems fishy and not right.

Wait, wait wait...
You were expecting to get a built engine, twin turbo setup, upgraded clutch, brakes, a camber kit, and coilovers for 5k?

Was this just for labor? or parts?
because for that kinda work, i have a feeling you were quoted one or the other.

5k was for labor for all of that the heads was separate as well as parts and anything that had to be modded but i knew that would happen but not 6k more and 755 of that 6k more is what they quoted me for stuff they said they would do for the initial 5k bid.

Looking for a decent shop to get the kids Sentra hood painted. Black car and the California sun baked the clear coat off . Any suggestions?

Very sorry to hear this... only thing I can say is that if Ron had this much issue with the build, I can only imagine what other shops would have put you through. Keep your head up, it isn't easy doing a conversion like that, but I agree, sounds like they could have been a little more upfront with the cost.

I speak all this from experience....you have no idea what I went through with my car throughout the years. Going over to RS or DB for a tune is much nicer than making a drive to Chicago.... just sayin'

Well, Disneyworld is awesome. I had a great time. Lots of good memories and photos. I'll have to start the uploads and order some photos from DW.

If you want something local for something as easy as that just go to Valley Collision in Apple Valley.

Man, I'm glad I got the lawn mowed. Took me almost 2 hours to do it.

Then I prepared dinner for the wifey and her friends.

Now I'm going to sit down with a beer and some Thai food.

I'm 5 days away from a road trip to the Solo National Championships.. still no flywheel.
Tracking says it should show up on wed, and I have an appointment to have it installed the same day.

Course maps are out, and both courses look crazy fast. I'm glad the setup work i did this weekend yielded a more stable feeling car, because i'd be off in the weeds real quick on courses this fast.

Guess the good side of them taking so long to finish my car is I'll have that cool fall air for boost. Bad news I'll have to store the car almost as soon as I get it broke in.

You can dona break in over a weekend. I did that with my car. Flew down to Chicago when it was done and drove 400-500 miles over two days then final tune, then back to mn...

You have a while yet before storage, I have driven up to thanksgiving before. Think positive.... Which I know is hard. Builds like this just suck the fun out of everything

Fairly fun little town for an event like this. We take over about half the airport. Two absolutely massive courses, a third smaller TnT course, and about 1,200 competitors.

All the info, course maps, etc.. are here:

So my "new" minivan is no longer "pristine." Tara had a little accident today.
