its drivable just higher maint. its nice in the summer, just winter we all have a 2nd car and store the z away till the salt is off the roads. As for places to live near the city I can't help you i loathe going there even in my winter beater when i visit my brother and sister. so I live like 40 mins west of downtown.

Whhhuuuhhh I used to drive mine winter (well only during light snow....I guess for one year too), but it did fine--no traction or stability control too as well as my E36 M3. I had rust proof protection done on both. Also pre-winter--whether they would be stored or driven--I would take it apart, i.e. expose as much bare metal by removing bumpers and etc, wash with an aggressive soap (dish soap) to remove waxes or any grime and then polish and put new wax layer. Finally, put winter tires on! Repeat procedure when spring settles , could be longer wait if MN is PMSing.
I did other stuff too, but 2 days out of 365 was plenty good to do winter care on my Z. Also I would get the 3M protective film for the stock bumper and headlights if you go this route.......,but I guess as Erik mentioned it would be easier to just buy a $500-900 beater if you don't want crazy MN winter drivers to clip you. They are worse than any salt or snow on the road.
Anyways just wanted to give my 2 cents. Plus my predicition of a Nismo Convertible coming true.....I knew it would happen once that auto trans was added. Is it considered a track car anymore!?!....was it even a track car!. Whatever makes companys that extra buck....I guess. ITs still a concept though.

The vert top on a Z just looks like such an after thought, like "oh **** we gotta put some kinda roof on this thing, just slap something on it and call it a day".

I had bad experiences with Groupon, so I deleted my account.
It was on Sunday when I was in Columbus, GA.
