Attention Iowa members: I'll be looking for your vote.
Oki everyone. Some of you might have seen my recent posts where I joke about running for public office. It was semi humorous at first, because I had no clue what office I'd run for.
I wouldn't say quite on a whim, but when I'd tell people I was running for something, I was surprised at how many people said they'd vote for me, regardless of what I ran for. So I decided to look into it seriously, and I've come to a decision.
I am going to run in the 2010 election for Iowa Representative - District 1.
I can't think of a better way to serve my new home than by representing the hard working families of my district.
As a car lover and member of this forum, I'd take special interest in issues concerning driving standards, speed limits, safety and of course drunk driving. I've joked that I stand for faster speed limits and better roads, I think I can honestly say that better roads is something Iowa can certainly appreciate after all the damage from last years winter, and probably again from this one. As a driver I'd love to see faster speed limits set on major highways. Likewise, I have zero tolerance for people who speed in school zones, or drunk drive.
Iowa has been good to me, and I'd very much like to serve this state that I now call home. I will attempt to run non partisan, as my goal is to serve the people, not the parties.
I suppose in 09, I'll ramp up my petitions to be put on the ballot, but if all goes well I'll have enough signatures well before the election.
Sign for Brian in 09, so Iowa wins in 2010.
Bah, crappy slogan. I'll think of a better one later, but I look forward to meeting any of you when it comes time to pull signatures and votes together.

Thanks everyone. I'm getting my name out there slowly but surely. I hope that with enough hand shaking over the next year, when it comes time to campaign, enough people will remember me. Guerilla campaigning.

Oh yeah. I recall giving a thumbs up and you returned it. Thought that was pretty cool. LOL that was me alright. I've met some cool people in Iowa so far. Nietzsche has a Maxima and he's a pretty cool guy to hang with also. Seems I just never have the time to meet up with my friends anymore.
PM me sometime, Im always looking for people around CR area to cruise with or what not. I have my Z all apart redoing everything with new rims and what not. If the Z aint together I will take our Infiniti G out instead then. Let me know sometime.
Sounds good. I spent this last weekend out in both CR and IC. So I'm down for some drinks sometime for sure.
