Not my style, wouldn't be fair to the salesman. But thanks for the suggestion.

^ As odd as this sounds, my friend used to do this all the time for he and his wife's yearly wedding anniversary. Last time I saw him, he "rented" a Dodge Viper from a private owner. They met online, exchanged info, met up at a local parking lot and they exchanged vehicles. We drove off in his Viper and he took off in my friend's beat up Honda Accord. Most bizarre transaction I've ever seen but people actually do this.

You can watch it with a 350z if i someone is willing to rent to me. I am posting this to a few other sites as well. When someone serious is willing to rent I'll let you all know how it goes
Like I said, I've done this invite past, usually those willing to rent are wealthier people without a loan on the vehicle, or someone selling it anyway and that don't mind "long test drive" for a months insurance premium or car payment in Exchange.

Well hes offering $250 or more. I personally wouldnt do it, but im sure theres people that will. People do anything for money nowadays. Thats why hookers do 60 yr old fat guys for $100. But most people on this website are obsessed with our cars, so i dont think anybody will do it here.

You should go on Craigslist and find people that are selling there 350z's, and ask them. Probably have better luck there.

If you don't have the money and aren't going to buy for a while-----just wait. When you have the bucks you can do whatever you want.

I just don't get all the messages where they are telling the OP what to do. I can understand why he posted here as this is a 350Z site. I personally wouldn't rent my car however, there is no point in giving advice as to what the OP should do.

I appreciate that. I certainly have collateral, too bad you aren't closer.

In theory that works, but this is a surprise for my wife's retirement tomorrow. I will get her one late next year when I have the cash for one. (I don't believe in financing anything that depreciates in value.)

My credit score is 830. Not perfect, but not bad. I have plenty of money for a rental, I just don't currently have $35000 cash assets to spend on a car without tapping into my silver or something else that it would be stupid to sell while the value is rising.

Funny thing is I was actually recommended by someone on Craigslist to post here on this forum. There are only two 350Z's in my area on craigslist for sale. Neither seller was interested. There is a guy in WI who offered to let me rent his for $200; however, he lives 3.5 hours from me so there isn't enough time for me to pick it up and get it back to him, not to mention that would put a lot of miles on his car.

You can find a 350z for 10,000 bucks and less. Im sure you would like a un modded 350z as your wife will not be modding her z. Goodluck with your search, tell the guy that is 3 hours away to meet you half way

That really depends on where ur at. I'm not sure about IL, but I know for a fact that in MD, you can't get one in decent-good condition (and I don't see why anybody would buy one in anything less than decent condition) for less than $13K. I know 3k isn't a whopping amount, but my point is that prices vary by location...
