ill be in downtown, but ill also spend alot of time in NW Indiana, Munster to be specific. I am not gonna be driving, so ill be relying on public transportation. I will be there for a week.

Interesting. Munster is a fine area. I had family there and visited that area often when I used to live in the Western Suburbs of Chicago. As for getting downtown. I believe you need to take a bus to the 95th Street station and then take the train downtown. Honestly. the South side is not the nicest area. Your commute will be long and not a very fun time in a great city. I assume this is for work. Personally, I'd rent a car instead of taking public transportation from the South side.

Not sure which airport you'd fly into but Midway (MDW) would be the closest to where you want to go.
