Anyone in Illinois with Tire Feathering?
Im looking for another dealer in the chicagoland area that will replace the tires when they featrher like mine are. The Nissan dealer in Naperville will only rotate them. Any ideas?
I haven't had the tire issue yet, but you may want to post this at www.chicago350z.com to see where others have gone.

I had the tire feathering issue last april. I went to Gerald Nissan of Naperville to get it fixed. They didn't even know what feathering was.(Car was to new). They told me that is was a defective tire and that i should contact bridgestone. Yeah, the tire was defective all right. YOU caused it!!! After arguing with Chris(service manager) about this, i just went to Gerald of North Aurora. They were very helpful. Got new tires within a month.
Just remember that nissan corp. wants the tires swaped side to side, then after 2000 miles they will decide if you need new tires. PM me and i can give you the NNACS rep who i worked with. If the dealership won't change customer service will make them.

i just finished with my dealer on this very issue. i am in ohio and bought a used 350 that came up from texas, so it had some miles on it. i had it for 2 1/2 mos when i went in for a routine oil change and they said my fronts were shot. i looked at them and they had normal tread on the outside and the cords were showing on the inside. the problem wasnt addressed when it should have been cause if its caught soon enough then they can fix the alignment and swap the tires from side to side and the tread will even out. well no go on mine and we fought tooth and nail. i am telling you this because what we found out after getting big dog nissan involved was that in january there is going to be a recall on the car nationwide to address this cause not enough people are catching it on their own. in the recall the car alignment/toeing-in will be fixed and 4 new tires will be put on. they will be bridgestones but the all weather version, a firmer rubber. so thats that. if you can, wait it out but if they are unsafe you will get them replaced but you have to go the extra step and get nissan involved with a formal complaint. hope this helps.
I was at Gerald Nissan in Naperville and they told me to goto a Bridgestone dealer....after they proper aligned the car. Its not Bridgestones fault...its Nissan.
Anything you can do to help me get them to replace the tires, Id appreciate it.

first thing you need to do is get in contact with nissan usa, i know people all over these boards are hollering about this car having its problems, but if done the right way, nissan is being helpful. call the 1-800-nissanusa1 number and go through the voluntary recal options. that will get you in contact with a case manager and you explain to him/her about the tire wear. right off the bat i can say that you will not get the tires fully replaced if they are deemed to be enough tread worthy to be flipped out, and then with some of the toeing in and wear they will even out through the life of the tire, maybe a little quickly, but remember these tires at best only get 20-25 thousand on them, yeah they are that soft. mine though were completely shot on the inside, about 50-100 est miles from a blowout. again mine came up from texas to ohio and were never checked, and i had only owned the car for just over two months, so there was still some salesmanship responsibility there. anyway, nissan turned down my original request but after some mild to moderate persuasion, they gave in simply because every tech verified the tires as a road hazard, again no good for anyone whose tires still have viable tread left to switch, which is all the tsb is for plus alignment not new tires. but as i said, through my inquiry and going high up on the nissan chain we were able to learn that in january after the first of the year, there will more then likely be a recall on this very thing, and it will include 4 new tires. only reason i am somewhat confident in this is because my dealer was worried about how they were going to get reimbursed for the tire, and nissan told them about this. the only next thing that worries me is that there are plenty of other people who have had this done already and are still getting the feathering. so my question, if anyone is still reading this, is what, if anything can be done for the camber on this car, if toe in is corrected can camber be the culprit????? i think i read somewhere that camber is not adjustable with this vehicle. if thats so is it adjustable with the 2004, and is that why the 04 supposedly doesnt have this problem?
new development on the 350 and the so called recall. i just got off the phone with my case manager, and his exact words were that he was aware of the possibility of a future recall campaign,"something is in the works", but there has been no discussion of any date as of yet. it has to do with the re-feathering of the new tires. so everyone out there needs to contact nissan usa and spear head this. just a thought. sorry for the lenghty message.

I did call Nissan USA around 10,000 miles about the issue. They gave me the old speal of how road noise is common with sports cars and whatever....but I filed a claim, though he said his computers were down so he would enter it when they came up. I wonder if I should call again then? Also, with this "maybe" recall...should I wait to buy new tires then?
my suggestion is that if your tires can hold off for a couple of more months i would wait, specially if you might have another car you can drive. but if you are in the snow and cant wait then thats different. again, no positives on the recall. nobody at nissan will say anything more than what i already said. pesonally i am not holding my breath and just realize that to save the tires i will probably drop 50 bucks every 6 mos for an alignment.
