Default Where to get my Z tuned in Minnesota

I called DB and the lady told me they cant tune my car with any of their software because they dont have any way to access my ECU. Is there any place in MN where I could bring my car without having to spend $700 for the software and cable? Than on top of that another 300-450 for the tune itself. I just want a tune, dont want the program. Thanks to anyone who replies.

What setup are you running?? I can't believe DB can't Tune you, they're like the go to guys here in MN to get it done. You could check out the place off of Hwy 13 in savage (can't remember the goddamn name right now) or god forbid MAP in Plymouth....

None, lots of shops have software they can use so you dont have to buy it, but the Z isn't that popular in MN so he doesn't have the UpRev for the Z's because it's not worth it to him since he is not a tuner for them and there is not many Z's around looking for tunes. So I am going to have to just buy the Osiris kit unfortunately, but if anyone has one I could use to get tuned I could pay them to borrow it

Did you get my PM?

And to all the guys saying you don't need a tune/ don't gain much from a tune you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Just removing the electronic throttle restriction makes it worth the $300 for the Osiris license... not to mention correcting your air/fuel ratio and all the other goodies you get.

not sure your background, and I doubt you know mine. not many around here (MN) that know this car better than me. a tune is a tune, and there isn't much to correct in terms of A/F ratios. now if you are talking other "goodies" then we talking about something else.

To get tuned, all you need is the UpRev cord(standard or Tuner), and then purchase a license. I know the MAP pricing for the License itself is $300, so you won't find one lower then that. The cord on the other hand, you can purchase new or used.

You can rent my cord I have the Tuner cord. All you need to do is send it in, have them flash a license on it, and then get tuned. The tune itself you'll have saved on your computer.

You won't see HUUUUUGE gains from a tune, but it definitely helps the car run a bit better. A/F ratios don't get completely thrown off until you start doing headers/internals/FI.

Ask Aaron(Zivman) for any tuning/aftermarket engine mod ?'s. He's pretty much done anything/everything you can do to his Z. ...well, except drive it Right Aaron?? BETTER SEE THAT THING ATLEAST ONCE THIS YEARRRRRR!!!!!!!!

I did get your pm but not sure how to go about that... the gains in hp may not be huge but the throttle restriction alone is worth it like ishk said. I really need a tune for all the benefits... since the tp install i can feel a delay before the power band starts.. its very odd and my first drive after the install it was really sluggish. Sorry for the poor grammar, im on my phone. I see no negative from a tune besides cost.

in all fairness, my N/A experience is less than my FI experience... that said, the lack of power (that I personally saw) from things like a N/A tune are what made me pursue FI.

Sure you will gain little things from screwing with the ecu in n/a form; but anything really notable? not a chance.

If you keep this car N/A... get it to sound like you want and get it stanced how you want. if you are after power, you basically have no other choice than to boost it.

Just saying, there's a very noticable improvement from removing the electronic throttle restriction, even on stock cars. Granted the AFR's shouldn't be too far off if you're stock, but with WOT fuel targets as high as11.9:1 there's plenty of room for improvement. Is it worth paying $700 for a full custom dyno tune with a stock or lightly modded car? I don't think so unless you're just ballin out of control or have all kinds of bolt-ons done. But the flash is definitely worth it for everybody.
