this Hwy. 100 sh!t needs to stop
I always figured something like this would always happen some day... and now it has. An innocent driver was killed last night on Hwy. 100 just past Oklahoma (almost directly in front of Schlossman Honda) because two dumbas.s ricers, with no regard to the safety of other drivers, were street racing. The innocent driver was turning left at an intersection when he got hit by an STI, who was racing a Plymouth Laser. What makes me sick is that the pus.sy in the Laser fled the scene.
All this Hwy. 100 street racing **** has to stop. I can't even drive along this stretch of road for even 3 minutes in my Z before an Evo or Mustang starts tailing my as.s looking to race. The scene on this stretch of road is so "Fast & Furious" wannabe that it's just disgusting. You'll run into crews consisting of all P.O.S cars with maybe one respectable ride, and the entire crew will act hard like they're the ****. The mentality there is: if you have a "nice" car, you have to go to Hwy. 100 so you can go race. ****in idiots... almost makes me want to gather a bunch of Z's so we can go 3-wide and a couple of rows back and enjoy a drive (not race) just to show these ricers that it actually is possible to have a nice car and not have to race and be wreckless.
I know I'm probably taking this a little too personal, but with good reason only because it almost hits home for me exactly. Over in New Jersey, my cousin and my aunt were driving and minding their own business when two Civics trying to drift through a turn (I know, it doesn't make sense to me either) lost control and hit my cousin and aunt head on, leaving them in the hospital for a week. Luckily, my cousin and aunt fully recovered and lived, but this poor and innocent guy wasn't as lucky.

Not that I'm knocking on the police in this area, but they kinda have their priorities backwards. A couple of weeks ago, my Z was parked at a Krispy Kreme parking lot right next to my roomie's Supra and my buddy's STI, and we were walking out toward our cars when all of a sudden a cop pulls up on us and starts questioning us... and while he's doing this, there were literally 2 street races that happened right in front of us. Of course, he didn't do anything about it and just kept questioning us.
That is messed up, the really scary thing is I was up there that same night and 10 mins before the accident that same STI tried to race me. Keep in mind I live off hwy 100 and I heading home from Pick'n save.
Cops need to back off of the cruisers and take out the racers on that strip. I wish we had a light night local drag strip.

I just got my Accord serviced on Wednesday/Friday at Schlossmann's. Highway 100 is a cesspool. I'm glad I'm back up at school in La Crosse and can enjoy nice solo/small group spirited cruises through the twisty roads in the bluffs around here.
Sorry to hear that man... I've been up there a few times a while back but its not really worth it.. mostly busted up rice and gigly H.S. girls... just not really worth the drive. I can't believe anyone would speed on that street anymore though.. there were cops every few feet for crying outloud.
