A decent central spot is the Rutgers Football Stadium parking lot in New Brunswick (technically Piscataway). 10 minutes from Turnpike exit 9 (Route 18 North).

Jersey Freeze is a hot dog place that has great ice cream. Located between Rt. 33 Rt. 9 next to Freehold Race Track and across from the Freehold Mall. Can you tell I live close to it.
