Default Does Boston cops write up missing front plates?

Hi guys, I'm getting a new front bumper that doesn't really go with a license plate. Do cops in MA write tickets for missing front plates? Other states with front license plate laws usually let it go unless you're caught for something else. Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Oh yeah, and anyone who gotten written up for it, how much was the ticket?

I figure I'm more likely to get a ticket from a metermaid than a cop.

cops in boston have way more to worry about than front plate laws. unless you instigate something else, i wouldn't worry about it. meter maids, yes, will tag you for registration sticker, inspection sticker, and plates--so beware. not sure of the fine--i think the front plate law is $25 or $50

I've been running ~2 years with no front plate... got pulled over 2x last summer by MA Staties (both speeding).. they both mentioned I had no front plate but i was lucky and only got warnings in both cases.. I had the plate in the car.. I told one Statie the bolt broke and was waiting for a new one.. the other Statie was just bustin' my ***** and wanted to check out my car.. I told him the truth that I wasn't going to put it on my car LOL.. he just shrugged and let me off... was a cool cop..even though he wasted my time.

I never park in the streets of boston.. always in a lot if i can help it..

I'm pretty sure the reason they are so lenient is because some people (like myself) still have the old green and white license plates on their car. When they originally distributed them, they only gave out one plate, so anyone with a green plate does not have to have a plate on the front of their car. A cop has to check the rear first to determine if you have a green plate then check the front.

When they do get around to eliminating the green plates (hopefully not for a long time...), I think their attitude toward a lack of front plate may change.
