Default Long Island Tuner Shop?

Hi Guys,
I posted this in the general section, maybe I will have better luck here.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Heya All!

Does anyone have first-hand experience with a tuner shop on Long Island/NY/NJ that they would HIGHLY recommend? Work along the lines of TT and forged internals, tuning, etc

Also, does anyone have any first-hand experience with MRC Motorsports in Spotswood, NJ?

Thank you :~)

Frankie

My car is currently in Performance Motorsport's shop in E. LI. Check out their website at theexperience.com Give them a call. The master mechanic has 20+ years experience rebuilding engines.

i will be running out of the box boost ~6.8psi, 400rwhp, stock internals, tilton clutch & flywheel setup. this is much safer than running something else at a higher boost to produce the same whp. i should be getting it back on saturday--i'll let you know what I think of it then.

ya might also want to check this thread out:

Feel free to stop by our facility, located in central NJ near Raceway Park. We are a smaller facility that pays attention to every detail and have built some truely AMAZING real street cars..Also our prices are not that bad either..
Our mechanics also have over 10 years experience as well as a team of 2 engineers on our tech staff, that can solve almost any problem..Our customer service is top notch and we put our customers, first, not our race team..

If you insist....
I was a customer of theirs before they got into the hardcore racing. It was a very friendly and customer oriented shop. I eventually had a problem with some work they did and brought it back to get fixed. I was told 2-3 weeks because they're racing team is a priority. I as a customer find that attitude unexceptable from a place that i have spent thousands of dollars at. The situation should of been handled better and I will not be using them for anything again. If you want to know specifics PM me. They were a sponsor here for a short time, do a search and read about the contest they ran.

I've been a customer of PM's for a couple of years... Ever since Vinny They have a had a mechanic for the retail side... Now they have two. So when the team is out racing they still have a dedicated staff for there retail side. You have PM...

I drove their Vortech Z a couple of years ago I guess. Seems like a great shop, however they wanted 12K for Vortech, exhaust, Headers. That was a little steep at the time. I might go back and see what they want for a Turbonetics+ install. They must charge a TON for the JWT. Like 15k??

I understand what some of you are saying about PM.... Management has changed, Yes They are dedicated to racing... They have established a Retail division to the shop... That was not addressed back in the day.... Pricing is no where as high as it used to be... I think they are on par with most professional shops today... The JWT kit is far far less than 15k installed... I also agree 12k is rediculous as well for a Vortech, headers, and exhaust..

Not saying things were perfect back then... Management is different as well as pricing...

So what is "far less" than 15k? I know they build AMAZING cars there and have the fastest Zs probably in the world.....and they're only 20 minutes away from me! I am planning on visiting them again.
