Are they sending you to San Antonio for basic? If so, you're in for one hell of a treat. San Antonio is smack dead in the middle of godforsaken land. It doesn't get below 100F during the day until sometime in November. It gets pretty cool at night though.

Actually, it's not that bad, but it will stay hot much longer than you're probably used to, but at least it's a dry heat.

 

I am at Lackland AFB (TX). then Monteray CA for tech school.

yeah, I am aware of the heat : ( lol. I drive around with my windows up and no air on!!!! prepping myself. I should be leaving in Sept.

Well, at least you won't get the climate shock I got when I went to basic for the Navy. Florida boy sent to Great Lakes Training Facility(Chicago) at the end of November. I left FL in shorts and got off the plane in snow. I stayed in the place until the Spring thaw. Talk about miserable.

 

yeah, Monteray is going to be great I hope. Laguna Seca is right around the corner!!!!!!! and the beach (even though it is cold in N CA) very hard training ahead though : )

 

Yea I was their at the meet at ikea, then to the cruise to v2. That happend this year in the month of May.
