Its about a three hour drive from Philly down. Not bad and on our route.

 

It's 385.6 miles from Sterling, VA to Harken's Island, NC. Estimated 7 1/2 hour drive.

 

So right down I95? this would work wonders for me

 

Would like to come up highway 12. Take a look at the satelite view! Looks like a very cool ride. You mid-A guys can cut over at some point to get home. Very narrow piece of real estate with one highway. Water on both sides.

 

Does 12 run up the outerbanks of NC? like though nags head? If so when you get down around the south end the roads might be covered over by sand this time of year. just a thought happend to me once

What i was thinking was taking 301 across the baybridge to va? any suggestions?

 

Been gathering additional info.

We can travel up mainland coast until we get to Ceasar Island. Take the ferry to Ocracoke (outerbanks) have lunch at Howards (on route 12) and continue North. The scenery is beautiful. Rt 12 is and will be open (no Problems) In Norfolf, Va we can split off, Mid-A will head West and the NorthEast contingent will head North.

Will be some great Photo ops.

The only delay will be the ferry (its a two hr ride).

 

Since its a three hour drive to Mach V, lets plan on the North Jersey/NY guys meeting up with the South Jersey guys at 8:00 Am. We can then schedule to meet the De contingent soon after and cruise from there so we are down in Va by noon.

 

sounds good theatrix, DE guys need to get together for a gathering point too... i would say dover again, and we all head route 8 to 302 to 301 to 495 heading straight into DC to VA where we meet up with the VA/DC/MD guys!
