Default April 2007 Shenandoah Circuit

http://www.mazdadrivers.com/

I just signed up for this track weekend (April 14th-15th). One of my friends (mazda driver) is going so I thought I'd try it. Although organized by Mazda Driving Associates, it is open to all makes/models. Has anyone else ever driven on this circuit?

Apparently last year there were Vettes, Evos, Miatas, RX7's/8's,Minis,350Z's and even an SL 55 AMG

91% sold - less than 10 spaces left.

There is also skidpan time as well. So you can get some sideways action.

Yes, I've driven it on many occasions. It's a very technical circuit (not sure which setup MDA will be running) with a lot of tight turns and a lot of significant camber changes. What makes it particularly challenging is that there's a large crown in the track that loves to upset the balance of the car. While this track doesn't necessarily favor heavier cars, my setup did exceptionally well here. Highlights include a turn called Pistol Grip and of course the almighty Carousel. Be forewarned that this track is deceivingly hard on brakes though and have fun!

I also highly recommend all of MDA's events - they're a top notch group!

I will be an instructor there. I should be in my Z unless the weather is bad.

I have a set of V710 with no tread

a set of RA1 with little to no tread that is wearing funny because my Z is camber challenged.

a set of Rt-615 Azenis that are half worn, but they mighht as well be worn as they are not great in the rain

a set of Rt-215 Azenis that are 25% worn, but they are just as bad.

all the tires are for sale by the way for cheap

I see what you mean about the track now. Had a great weekend there. Weather held up well on Saturday but rained most of Sunday. A very well organized event and I would highly recommend it to everyone. Miatas seemed to do really well there. Loads of interesting cars inc a cobra, few Lotus elises, RX7's and a mad turbo'd R32.

Also rode with a couple of instructors which was a great experience.

.......and Tom (Instructor - 350Z) you're a mad driver!! - amazing what a Z will do on that track!! Hope you got home safely mate.

There is constant action there, but I dont think that track is as hard on brakes as Lime Rock. I do notice a lot of tire wear and I caught some air when I nail the rumble strip.

Btw, I think you were in the car when I nailed my fastest lap through the traffic...

That's amazing how far you had to drive - glad you made it to work on time!!

Yeah, that lap in your car was great. Think we caught some air on the crest of the hill before the carousel as well.

All in all a great event.

Ahhh I wondered if that was you. Your car looks and sounds great. I should have come over for a chat!

Yeah mine is stock apart from pop charger. That was my first track day in the U.S. I thought it was a really well organized event and wouldn't mind doing it again.

Yes, four track days there in two different cars but never with the Z or in that course configuration.
