Anyone headed to Englishtown this weekend for the NHRA event? I'm planning on being there Saturday, but the weather looks to be pretty crappy for Drag Racing...

 

Have a vacation planned for 2 1/2 weeks through June, so it'd have to be early June for me.

 

I might be down my my sisters on sunday if you are around.....

 

Small world indeed, I bought the 67 from a friend of my father who was the original owner and he lived in Woodbury too! That pic was taken about 1978 (God, I can't belive it's been 25 yrs) at the Gulf Station where I worked as a kid at the Marlton circle across from Olga's diner. Back to 2003 I am only about 45 min away from Fuddruckers and would like to check out some classics if they show up and represent our Z's. Just out of curiosity is it a Rice crowd also??

Nah, its not ricey, more classics, chopped rods, good muscle and antiques than anything else but some good mod stuff too. Its a good blend of enthusiasts and generally everyone's interested in talking cars. A couple of the fridays each month are sponsored by clubs and a little more organized and well attended - 200+ cars. But even the other unsponsored fridays are popular and sometimes its hard to get an inside spot if you get there after 6.

I've heard there's a similar, maybe bigger, showing on fridays on RTE 13 in DE just below the DM bridge and I95, but haven't been down to that yet.

Also, last year, the Courier Post ran a car show and classics page in its TGIF section with all the upcoming shows listed - haven't seen it yet this year.

How about meeting at LBI a shore favorit for NY'ers or it used to be when I worked there... Maybe like at Joe Pops or Wheaton Village in Millville.... Just a couple of thoughts.

 

Yea, I'm not sure what really happened to this thread. Maybe we should push the meet back to July to get some more interest/set dates brewing. Maybe the weekend after 4th of July weekend would be good? I know the end of June would be bad for me as I'll be in Arizona from June 12-29. Anytime after that is perfect for me

 

I was interested in coming down for a central NJ meet but the weekend after July 4th is when we are having our CT Meet (July 12th).

Hopefully, a date that doesn't interfere with July 12th can be arranged so that some of us NY/CT owners can come down.

 

Oh shoot Vic, I must've read the post wrong *doh*...I thought that meet was JUNE 12th, not JULY 12th. DUH! I'll be able to make it then! LOL...I'm stupid...

Please come to our CT meet on July 12th. There's a caravan coming from NY and right now we are over 30 cars total that have expressed interest in attending. It should be a great event. Check out the details I posted in a separate thread. Let me know if you can make it so that I can add you to the list.

If June is not possible for the NJ meet, maybe August. I already have people asking about doing something in August and maybe you can organize something in central Jersey so that we can get NY/CT/MA members to caravan down.

Keep us posted if you come up with anything.

 

I got some guys out here that would love to MEET somewhere around SOUTH JERSEY area, if we catch some nice weather it would be fantastic!!! Let me know!!

I am all over meeting in the south Jersey area. CT is a little far from where I live. Perhaps we can pick 2 dates, the second one being a rain date. I would like to see us meet somewhere where we could socialize a little, have a beer perhaps. Maybe we could talk about putting something fun together for later on in the summer. I was thinking about how much fun a “Poker” run would be. A Poker run could have 6 stops or check points heading to a main location, at each check point you would receive a playing card. At the 6th location you could trade your cards in for new ones or “stay”. The person with the best hand would win the “kitty”. Then at the end have some food and drinks.

Well just some thoughts…..

 

1. Point Pleasent because of the scene or Seaside Heights... to get on MTV!

2. Englishtown, cause it's right in back of my house.

3. 4th of July, cause that's when car meets are the best.

 

lets set a date im down for anywhere in jersey cant wait to go to a meet!!!!!
