Default Recommend a place in Philly for good cheesesteak

I'm going to Philly this Sunday to see the King Tut exhibit at the Franklin Museum and I figured since I was in town I may as well get a real philly chease steak. Anyone recommend a good spot thats somewhere close to the museum. Thanks in advance.

There are a few good places:

1). Pat's
http://www.patskingofsteaks.com/

2). Geno's
http://www.genosteaks.com/home1.html

3). Tony Lukes
http://www.tonylukes.com/

Those are the famous cheese steak locations.....Pat's and Geno's are located right across the street from each other. I'm sure everyone from Philly will agree with these three choices.

none of them are 'near' the art museum though... I figured he meant in walking distance.

is Rick's still at reading terminal or is it closed?

+*********in'1 on Pat's. Every time I'd go to Philly I'd make a trip over there.

Any place in Philly can make a decent cheesesteak, however your not having an authentic Philly cheesesteak unless you go to one of the following places. Geno's Steaks has my #1 vote, then Pat's. And of course Tony Luke's. Jim's Steaks on South St. is also very good too.

Just go to Geno's and order 2. When you order, it must be in english, and you say "american with". I drive from central jersey just to get them sometimes. I paralleled my Z for the first time few weeks ago just to get one, very tight area lol, my car stuck out like a sore thumb in that area. Oh well.

I was trying to get a bunch of my friends to go, but my cousin went last year and she said it was so staged it wasn't scary.... So we aren't going.

Thats funny man, they must be good if you parked your z there. I've actually never parked my z on any street. maybe a handful of times at a mall and i'm always like the car farthest from the entrance. I hate door dings.

D'Alessandro's in Roxborough FTW on the cheesesteaks...though it's probably too far from the museum.

fyi, I ended up going to Geno's and can say I'll never go back. That place seemed racially discriminating to me. Next time i'll go to Pat's or one of the other places. Now I know what one of the members above meant when he said "order in english". They have all this anti-immigration propoganda posted all over the place. I didn't like that about them.
