A while ago I purchased a Veilside V2 spoiler replica in carbon fiber from a forum member (05fairlady) from Long Island, NY. The seller did not mention the the spoiler's clear coat is all bubbling up. And the pictures even in high resolution do not show the bubbles.
Here's the original thread
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=304162

The seller never informed me about the bubbles before selling me the item nor it's in his post. After I received the spoiler, I PM'ed him a few times and complained about it. He ignored me of course and I decided to leave him a negative iTrader rating (It's my first time leaving someone a negative iTrader rating). Surprisingly he PM'ed after I left him a negative rating and offered to split the cost to fix the spoiler.
Here's his PM.
I got a formal quote from Car Toyz 2 (The most reputable shop in the area) and the amount came out to be $100 to reclearcoat. I then PM'ed him telling him the amount ($50) and told him I could mail or fax him the quote. Again he ignored my PM's and I finally had to IM him on AIM (Fairladyy05) to try to get his attention. He replied saying he'd paypal me the money when he gets paid on Thursday(12/13/2007). So Thursday came and of course I did not see any money. I PM'ed him again, IM'ed him and he never replied. So 2 days had passed, I IM'ed him again and for the first time I showed him a little attitude saying "Ok, keep ignoring my messages". Then this toolbag IM'ed me back with the lamest excuse. Here's the conversation.
So the guy blocked me from AIM. woohooo! That sure made my day.

The whole area circled in green is filled with bubbles. Obviously the picture is not showing it. I'd think an honest seller would take a close up shot and actually warn the buyer about it?

i had the same experience with purchasing stillen spoiler.
It got so bad that i had to pay 300 bucks for paiting the bubble spots...
guess what...3 months later, other area started to go bad. Body shop told me that the original painter didn't put bodog...something before they painted the spoiler
It actually costs more to repaint the spoiler than to paint it brandnew. They have to spend extra effort to sand out the old paint.
i ended up taking the spoiler out and put on the stock one i had

I can't see the bubbles where you've highlighted, but I can see these ones. I would've done the same, though - if I was excited about the car, I wouldn't look for that. The reason I was able to point them out is because you brought it to my attention. There's no doubt that he should have provided better pictures. If I were you, I'd just get the thing painted body color and have a nice day.
I think you overreacted a bit. Someone going to school full-time can be really busy and maybe it might slip my mind. However, if he said he would split the cost, he should've sent the money.
Sucks to be out $100 for the fix, but at least all it is is bubbled clearcoat and not something worse. Just be more careful with future purchases. We all get duped once in awhile. If you really want to be a pain, you could try and file a complaint through PayPal (if thats how you paid for the wing) and try to recoup some money that way.

For the seller:
There are no excuses, no exceptions, this argument holds no validity in a court of law yet so many people use the statement: "I'm so busy with X, Y, and Z, I simply could not find the time.." Yeah, shuuudddup and cough up $50, bb1314 isn't ur mom so complain/make excuses to someone else, case closed, sympathy FTL, ur Logic FAILS you.

Couple things I want to point out.
The bubbles that were "circled" by Fairly Z aren't even the actual bubbles. LOL.. The ones that I see on the actual spoiler are like 5" x 5" each. I'm starting to believe that the picture provided by the seller is not even the actual spoiler that I purchased or it was a picture taken a while back before the bubbles even appeared(Maybe that's when he decided to sell the spoiler and purposely left out detail about the imperfections?)
Did I overreact a little? Hmm.. I really don't think so. The dollar amount might not be big. But the fact that the seller was obviously scamming and giving out the lamest excuse to try to get away from paying me that $50 are what I want to share with my fellow members here.
Busy with school?! I see him get on AIM (going from away to not away, offline to online, idle to non-idle) everyday around evening time throughout this whole time I tried to communicate with him. Now tell me how long it takes to paypal somebody? Even if you're retarded or have a slow computer, it takes less than 1 minute to bring up an internet browser, put in "www.paypal.com". I provide him my paypal email in every PM and everytime I IM him. So it takes lets say 3 minutes to fill out the sending payment form. An extra minute in case he needs to pee in between the process. The whole process takes no longer than 5 minutes!!!! Ok lets say if the seller is REALLY retarded or has a REALLY slow computer and it'd take him double of that time. You can't take 10 minutes of your life to make something right? I'm seriously curious about which school the seller is going to that could occupy his time so much that he can't even step back and take 10 minutes to do something that he offered and promised.

My intention to create this thread was to share my frustration due to a bad buying experience and warned the members of my350z.com about this seller.
Buyer beware? Now that offended me a little bit. You're telling the community to beware of me when I am giving back to the community by giving out warnings? Now tell me one thing that I have done wrong to deserve that "Buyer beware" statement.
