Vrooom -> New "Z" Owner!
Wheee! Hiya folks, long time lurker... second time poster! Errr.. or something like that. After a month and a half of careful planning, financially finagling and some stiff shopping I finally picked up my new Brickyard Track today.
My first car was a 2000 Subaru 2.5RS I bought four years ago (okay there was a rust bucket I graduated college with before that but it doesn't count!). After lots of modding, tuning, autocrossing and spirited driving I decided that to commemorate my new found employment I would buy myself a real 2 door sports coupe. So off went my baby Subaru (*sniffle, she's a fab car, I'll miss her*) and into the garage with my new 350. I couldn't be happier!
However, the service engine light came on about 40 miles after I left the dealer (she had 74 miles on the odo. at the dealer). A quick search here reveals either a gas cap issue (to be safe I did remove it and re-insert it with two clicks) or perhaps a evaporator issue .. maybe even a bad O2 sensor. My subby had similar ECM problems shortly after purchase, no big deal and should the light stay on for a few days I'll take her into the dealer.
Other than that, oh my word do I love this car. Fantastic braking, rigid handling and strong acceleration (even under the 4,000 rpm break-in limit). And all of that without having to spend thousands in mods like I did on my subby.
Anyway, I've been lurking for awhile so this is my "coming out" post as it were. I hear there's a big meet in conneticut on the 12th of the month, I live about 30 minutes from the Tappen Z bridge so I might just have to drive up there should work let me home for the weekend
Hope to see ya'll on the road!

Man what a week, I'm in Chicago on business right now, coming home thursday to drive out to my girls (in the new Z of course) in Ohio on Friday, I'll finish the trip by driving out here monday. Then the following friday I get to drive all the way home so I can drive out to CT on Saturday for the meet
Wahoo, that should push through the break in period on my baby no problem
Still a "maybe" on the meet, software consulting is a hairy business and plans are just that, plans. Thanks for the warm welcome
