I have recently had an Alpine unit installed using the after market kit. I see that yours isn't recessed. Mine sits back a bit. What type of kit are you using for your alpine hu?

Thanks for the compliments. The dash kit I used is the American International kit. First I had used the Metra kit, but wasn’t happy with it so I replaced it. I found that the Dupli-Color Bumper Grey spray paint is an exact match to the rest of the console and it is very durable.
There are a few advantages of kickpanel speakers. One is that the woofer/midrange and tweeter will be mounted close to each other, and the mids and tweets fire in the same line. Also putting them in the kick panels allows better tuning for staging of the sound. There is more to both of these points, but it is a quick explanation.
