So what time are the NY group meeting at Fort Totten?

 

GVJ - CT

 

I think the CT plan would be to meet at the Radisson in Cromwell at 9:00 AM and have breakfast. We can leave there around 10:00 AM and get to the rest stop in Stamford a little after 11:00 AM to meet 350Zzzz and maybe some others. We can then plan to leave there around 11:15 AM.

I think it would be easier for us to go straight into NJ and meet up at a spot where we can then all drive in together to the park. SirMike1 is going to advise where to meet. We can be at that spot in NJ by noon and meet up with the Fort Totten group and others.

Mike, please let us know where in Jersey we can meet up at before heading out to the park.

Let us know where the meeting spot is in NJ. We will most likely meet up there.

You might want to let ZchickZ know too. Don't know if you did already. I'm sure there are a few who would make it.

You are welcome to meet up with us in Stamford if you don't mind the drive. There is a rest stop between Exit 9 and 10 on Route 95 South that we will be stopping at. We should be there around 11:00 AM. Let me know if you can meet us there and we'll wait for you. If not, you can meet us at the NJ spot that Mike will be arranging for us.

 

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the late reply. I've been trying to find a place close by to the Park and big enough for anyone to meet without any trouble. Meeting time should be around 11:30 am to 12:00, that way we have enough time to wait for anyone who's late. Right now I have the directions for everyone coming down from CT and NY. I'll try and get better directions from I-95 S to Route 4 W soon.

From George Washington Bridge (I-95 S)

Follow signs to Route 4 West. Stay on RT 4 W towards Paramus for approximately 8-10 miles.
Take the Forest Avenue Exit right before the overpass and stay to the left up the short hill.
Make a Left at the traffic light (Forest Ave).
Drive through the overpass and make a Left at the next light towards Route 4 E. (Do NOT go down the ramp)
Make an immediate Right into the Spa2 parking lot and drive straight into the big lot behind the building.

From NJ Turnpike Northbound (I-95 N)

Follow Turnpike North towards the George Washinton Bridge. Stay to the right side when the highway splits.
Take the Leonia/Teanck exit ramp.
After the ramp, there will be 2 exits.
Take the 2nd exit, Leonia. After the ramp you will get to a traffic light and see a Marriot hotel to the right side. At the 2nd light, make a Right (Teaneck Rd northbound). Follow Teaneck Rd appx. 3-4 miles till you hit Rt 4 West. The entrance is just after the overpass. Get onto Rt 4 West and follow the directions above from Rt 4.

From Garden State Parkway Northbound

Take exit 161. At the bottom of the ramp stay to the left side towards Rt 4 E.
Follow for appx 1-2 miles and take the Forest Ave Exit after the Bergen Mall overpass. Go up the ramp and make a Left before the traffic light into the Spa2 Parking lot.

Mike, thanks for the directions and setting up the NJ meeting point. I will call when we are leaving the rest stop in Stamford, CT. It should take us about 30-45 minutes (depending on GW Bridge traffic) to get to you from there.

i started a new thread for the NY's; i need feedback about who's going and what time we want to meet at Fort Totten.

 

Tim, I was thinking of just going straight to New Jersey but we could probably stop at Fort Totten on our way down. Would appreciate if you could post directions from Route 95 South in Connecticut (we will be meeting up with somebody in Stamford).

If we decide to stop at Fort Totten I would say we would try to get there at 11:15 AM and then plan to leave at 11:30 AM. Let me know what you think.

Right now we have 5 cars coming down. Hopefully we'll get more to join up before the 24th.
